Ok guys, i agree with you that Mancini is really bad at tactics, formations, strategies etc.. I mean even he confirmed that by saying "I don't have a clue what formation we'll play".
But let's be real. There is no coach in the world, except maybe Mourinho, who would make Thohir, spend this much money, and get players like we got this summer.
Ok, i know, Kovacic. I was sad for a week too. But now, when i think with cold head, if selling Kovacic, means wining, I'm absolutely ok with that.
As per Shaq, i think that he wouldn't succeed in Italy. Most of the time he played for Inter, he was like headless chicken.
IDK, it's too early to say, but i think that now we have really solid squad that can win games easily with smaller teams. And that's what we lacked past years.

P.S
C'mon, I'm member since 2008 and I'm still in Primavera???? :D

Yeah ok good, we looked covered in all positions, accept one. Jovetic is the only one who can play in that position effectively, we should have hung on to Hernanes as cover & not strengthened Juve, but I guess maybe financially we didn't have a choice.

4-2-3-1 with Jovetic as the Trequartista would be too offensive for us as I doubt Perisic and Ljajic love to track back.

Perisic actually tracks back. Can't say the same thing about Ljajic. From what I heard, he doesn't like tracking back.

I think this is the very 1st time in YEARS that our management totally supports our coach! Quite risky but at least he has all the conditions to implement his football philosophy [even if we don't always agree with it]. I believe his every-single demand has been met, including his personal picks Melo+Perišić+Jovetić and departures of Kova+Hernanes+Shaqiri.

The club got him 10 new senior players with 9 of them being potential starters!!! A whole new backline and a complete forward line. We have limited talent in the midfield but it was his plan all along, so now all the pressure is on him.

Good luck Roberto, now you must deliver!

I'm not surprised to be honest. That's his goal in the first place, and we all know that this is how he likes his midfield since ever.

I'm just curious to see how is this going to work without Zlatan/Cruz saving the day this time.

Are you trying to say that we had plan since the beginnig?

icardi, palacio, jovetic, ljajic, and perisic are very good attacking department. nevertheless i still have doubt that mancini would be able to maximize their potentials. my biggest worry after our 2 games is the transition from the back to attacking. mancio seems to rely heavily on individual brilliance than some tested and convincing approach.

he cant manage to play kova, shaqiri, and hernanes at the same time properly so i will not expect much. the same trend could happen this season that's why thinking mancio could generate more positive results is still far from certainty. i really hope i'm wrong for the sake of better inter this season.

btw, imagine if montella manage that forward line up for us :alone:

Bluenine is right. Except that midfielder who can dictate the tempo we have a balanced squad. And don't forget the Target: get into top 3. the most important task is to win against smaller teams. And here Mancio can play 4-2-3-1 most of the time. This team could be also a very good counteratack team. Our midfield is made now from physical players who would help when the teams play narrow.
To achieve the 3rd spot it may be enough. For bigger targets we need badly a midfield who can dictate the tempo. Here, Kova will be missed.

Squad Depth
Post hoc fallacy.

Having a physical midfield with no creativity is not the reason we were successful in 05-09, so it's irrelevant. We were successful because of a weakened league and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Mancini should have deliberately lost those years, just to prove he was the shit coach you all want him to be. Jojo amd perisic can add the creativity and balance weve been missing. Guess what, Juventus looks like garbage so far having lost their core, and our main competition so far, seems to be roma. Where you guys gonna hide when Mancini wins us the scudetto?...undefeated.

MANCINI - THE TRIAL OF NINE

Inter scored nine good signings favoring all the requests made by the coach.

Now it is up to Mancio.

11954655_532988983515695_7753273610346806563_n.jpg

MANCIO, IT IS NOW UP TO YOU.

Melo plus Ljajic. And so the coach has an Inter squad worthy of the Scudetto.

Felipe and Kondogbia are the wall in front of the defense, the Serbian with Jovetic and Perisic to inspire Icardi.

But in the 4-2-3-1, the problem remains is tactical balance.

Milan - Roberto Mancini now has his gallery of champions imagined and realized. A revolution that is probably unprecedented for Italian football. But now, it begins the work that is even more complicated for the Inter coach. Turning an idea of fantasy football into a team that is capable to quickly find a common ground on the tactical project and to win the Scudetto. The feeling is that the 4-2-3-1 represents a great challenge for Mancino. An comprehensible choice because on paper, Inter can become a deadly goal machine. But to reach this goal, there is a magic word that needs to happen: balance. Will Inter coach able to convey his message in a football dressing room full of new faces that come from different football cultures? At least at the very beginning, the true leader is him, the coach. One more responsibility that certainly does not scare someone like Mancio.

Melo and the magical square Three million well spent, Mancini is sure. The Inter coach is one of many coaches who are in love with Felipe Melo. The reason is simple. The Brazilian has two qualities: is an formidable ball hunter and has vision of plays and cultivated legs (good foot work?). There are few players in the world that can guarantee those two qualities which are very important tactically. Carlos Dunga, thanks to the presence of Felipe on the field, was able to impose his idea of the magic square to the Selecao. Remember the Confederations Cup in 2009? Pato, Kaka, Robinho and Luis Fabiano, all together on the field. Felipe was so huge that the Brazilian defense can take whatever that was thrown at it and then started counterattacks with great quality. We wonder if Mancini has in mind something similar to that of the Selecao. Surely, he has in mind an Inter that have a poker up front: Icardi, Perisic, Jovetic and Palacio. Or Ljajic. If Melo can hold it, all is possible. Yeh, key is if. If he can hold. Because the other side of Felipe is… emotionally fragile. Sometimes, he can ruin everything thanks to his excessive competitive spirit. The Selecao burned his World Cup ambitions in South Afrida just for a moment of madness of the midfielder. Even with Kondogbia on this side, same madness could happen. The presence at the side of a man with a personality of Melo will surely help. With a midfield of three, there will be an extra space for Guarin, Brozovic, and Medel. The Chilean can be a vice-Melo but we are talking about two different worlds.

Central forward or false 9 The new and deeper Inter can tactical projects for the offensive department. The established formula is the one with the classic central forward. So, one with Icardi. The Argentinian bomber is no longer a risky bet. At the sound of his goals, he deserves to be in the central of the ambitious project of Inter. Icardi needs a team that can enhance his quality. Translated: other strikers that do not clog the penalty area and a team that can provide quality crosses. Perisic is a perfect option. Because the former Wolfsburg player also will provide support in the midfield when Inter do not have possession. Other strikers can have multiple functions: Ljajic ensures crosses from the wings; Jo-Jo is the perfect solution for a link up outside the area or an assist for his teammate. And Palacio is a mix of the two.

Plan B But the arrival of Ljajic gives Mancini a plan B. That is an attack without a reference point. It was Montella, during the days at Fiorentina, who invented the tandem of Ljajic and Jovetic. A deadly duo that is very good at creating opportunities for the midfielders. With this option, both Perisic and Palacio will function very well, both are quality forwards. Since the beginning, Inter have changed quite a bit. This is going to be a headache also for the opposing coaches. There is a big difference when it comes to preparing to face Icardi as a central forward or against Ljajic.

Miranda-Murillo, what a tandem The defense of Inter already seems to have a solid foundation. Everything starts with the central pair of Miranda and Murillo. A wall. Two investments that Inter made very early on are already in perfect harmony with Italian football. Mancini, however, has a wide selection of fullbacks. Juan Jesus was just an option of emergency. Based on the transfer market, Montoya should be your right back and the newest Telles on the opposite side. But Santon started well and can be a viable alternative. It is obvious that Mancini will have difficult deciding his back four. Rightly. Because a born-to-attack Inter must also have a safety net behind to rely on.

Mazzarri got some players he wanted and he also was a good sport, not selling the players that at first he did not want (to develop), like Kova.

Thohir definately wants to help us get back into the thick of it as soon as possible.

Yes, i agree, now it's up to Mancini!!

However, even though Mancini still hasnt shown a great progress in the first two matches this season (in my opinion),
If not because of him, we wont see Jovetic, Kondogbia, Telles or even Perisic.
We might pushed for Zuniga, Isla, Gilardino and Behrami (if Mazzarri still in charge)

So kudos to Mancini for that!!

Sometimes you can be funny, I'll give you that.

That is quite clear. I think Thohir supported Mazzarri more than Moratti would have, and now it looks like he is backing Mancini. I think this is a good sign, spending so much money to build a team which suits the coach means that Thohir has a longer term commitment. Hopefully that means that he will be more patient for the results, and have more conviction to follow through to see this ambitious project succeed.

I have a good feeling about this. Next summer, we can afford to spend all our budget on few quality upgrades. I think if Thohir keeps the faith on Mancini for 2-3 years, we will win the Scudetto. Finally there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

the most important task is to win against smaller teams. yet to win against smaller teams we need a pack of creative midfielder. no matter how good our counterattack, it would be pretty useless against smaller teams which instead will park an airbus in front of their goal and shut every shitty hole they have when they are playing against us. except we'll had a 38 games of luck like we had in the first 2  and the individual brilliance of some of the players like manshitni always count on  then it may not be enough

i couldn't care less if we got the likes of zuniga or behrami as long as they can improve the team. i can see how funny these people are when they bash the previous coach because he wanted some of his previous players but did the entire opposite when today's coach do the exact same thing. and is it really because of him that we got jovetic or kondogbia kind of players? i remember someone who had won a champions league before yet still the management wouldn't give him the players that he wanted. so it all still depends on whether the management really wanted to support the coach or not instead of who the coach is. or we can always count on the project bullshit thing to attract them

To achieve the 3rd spot it may be enough. For bigger targets we need badly a midfield who can dictate the tempo. Here, Kova will be missed.

A player who can dictate the tempo and control the flow of the team's offensive play usually called as playmaker is not absolutely a AM or trequartista, CM and deep-lying playmakers. Nowadays as we know, several playmakers can also operate on the wings, in more of a wide position, as a half-winger, inverted-winger, or also as an outside forward, in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 formation.or even as supporting striker. Hence, we aren't supposed to be worried. We already have Jo-Jo, and who knows Perisic or Ljajic also can overcome your fear of losing creativity. Hernanes and Kova didn't take us anywhere with their creativity, albeit 8th.

If we really play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, then i think no need to find that "midfield who can dictate the tempo". Bro-Kdog-Guaro-Melo-Gnoku is more than enough to fill that 2 or 3 spot. i'd love to see them biting each other for gaining starting spot. Players who is in better shape should be played.
