WAIT WHAT I don't remember him playing. So the NT think Palacio was a good idea but took forever to give Icardi a chance?

This was like 4 years ago when Icardi was 20 and had only scored maybe 10 goals for us? Argentina’s Real mistake was not replacing Palacio and Aguero when they got injured in the training camp leading up to the World Cup. Both looked like absolute shit in that final.

I know it was 4 years ago but Palacio wont ever be what Icardi was for 1 year ago where he still didn't have the chance to play for Argentina hence the comment I did.

I don't find it nearly that surprising. Argentina had a better version of Icardi in Higuain, along with Aguero, who all tend to operate as lone strikers. Palacio has the ability to make runs and open space the way none of those three really tend to. He was the perfect compliment for them.

I remember watching him live at san siro. His off ball movement is fucking crazy , you get tired just watching him roam around and create space.
Can't compare him to many others since im not lucky to have opportunities to watch big players live often but he was impressive.

I'll tell you who, Icardi.
Yes, in Tv you don't see that, and that was one of the most impressive things when i saw Icardi live.
I was mind blown by his off the ball movements...i never would have thought that Icardi moves that much.
Cuz i always wondered, like so many, just by watching on TV, how the f Icardi scores so much....when you see him live, it's like a revelation...everything just starting to make so much sense.

normal behaviour in my eyes.

Not really. Ronaldo claims to be an Interesta but that didn't stop him celebrating against us while he played for Bbilan.

Palacio was always a gentlemen and i felt for him when he was virtually our only option to score and our poor form was taken out partially on him. Great guy all round.

It's actually standard procedure. The only reason not to do this is when there's spite by the fans (see Ronaldo with the whistles, Zlatan with the booing, Higuain after he was jeered etc). Also, moving from one big club to another is differet because that means you get to score in a derby so it's also a bad move towards the fans of your new team to not celebrate a derby goal. And it also depends on the bond you have with the team, playing for a couple of seasons is not the same as being part of the organization for a number of years (3+ usually in this modern era).
And then there's Borriello.

normal behaviour in my eyes.

Let me correct this.

Normal behviour in MY eyes. Just because you mention a couple of idiots doesn't mean it isn't proper normal behaviour.

Example: When I sit down in the bus and someone old walks in 70+ years. Not many people stand up but I'd do it to give him/her my seat since I think it's proper normal behaviour. The others who didn't are idiots and don't give a shit.

Palacio to me was one of the best forwards in the world talent wsie, his movement, technique and speed were all first class, i always liked him since his time with Boca [i used to watch them way back]. Issue was he was never consistent with his scoring and he would always find ways to score great tough goals but miss complete sitters. I think he should have been played more as a wing forward / second striker, would have suited him better.

He was always a humble player, not surprised he didnt celebrate, would have actually liked him to retire with us or stay on as a sub.

Always liked him, a shame we didn't have a better team when he was in his prime.

Always liked him, he was amazing in our 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 seasons, scoring 37 in 36 apps and 30 in 35 apps respectively. A shame we didn't have a better team back then.

37 and 30? Dude what the fuck are you talking about. Palacio scored like 40 league goals in total over 5 seasons.

I want him back. He's very old but he is better than Eder. We wouldn't be so damned dependent on Icardi otherwise.
