Brozovic
I'm pretty sure we will be playing a 4-3-3
and Roma 4-2-3-1.

Brozo-Medel-Kondogbia
Ljajic-Eder-Perisic

Coppa games are nothing like the campionato. We can't attack Roma and expect to own them, common.
We can however push Brozo forward...and it sort of looks like a 4-2-3-1
When we defend Perisic and Ljajic always track back...

Fiora went against Roma all out like people here want, how did that work out for them?! :yao2:

Is cloning allowed now?! or does he have a twin brother?! :eek:blivious:

Eder1 = Eder

Eder2 = Biabiany (Only if I'm too drunk to FIF)

Just like when Napoli & Juve hammered us in the Coppa when we played 4-2-3-1 is it? Btw that was five NIL to us, in case you were wondering. We should play 4-2-3-1 so as to have our best players playing in their most effective roles, that being Brozovic as a regista & Perisic as an attacking left sided winger, Kdog is better as a DM as well. Have you not be watching our latest games or something? Oh & btw Roma's defence is weaker than ours & our attackers be plenty quick too. You may fear them, but I certainly don't, bring them on.

Both of those matches included weak Napoli and Juventus sides. Juventus played with Hernanes, Sturaro, and Asamoah in midfield, all bench players. Napoli also benched Jorginho and Hamsik from what I remember.

When we played 4-2-3-1 one against opponents that weren't weakened, we were terrible, see the Milan derby match (I believe we used 4-2-3-1 in that one). Anyway, I don't believe we do well in this formation when we actually play good teams.

Peruzzi: ‘Inter lack spirit’

Former Inter goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi says the Nerazzurri ‘lack spirit’ and that Saturday’s clash with Roma is a 'watershed moment’ for them.

The two clubs face off at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday, with Inter needing a win to maintain a chance of fighting for the third and final Champions League spot.

“Roma favourites against Inter? Even in a crucial game like on Saturday, anything can happen,” Peruzzi said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Roma play well, they’re very fast, but Mancini has the tools to respond and can do damage with Ljajic, Eder and Jovetic, who was decisive in the first part of the season.

“After all, for Inter the Olimpico is the watershed moment: if they lose, the Champions League is gone.

“Roberto has a potentially strong team but they’re also a bit inexperienced. They lack spirit. They should clone Zanetti.

“I think Spalletti’s merits, more than technical and tactical, have been psychological. He’s put everything in its place, giving back trust to the whole environment.

“If Roma have come second for two years, then the qualities were there. Second place? With the direct match against Napoli at home, Roma can believe in it.”

Peruzzi also gave his thoughts on Napoli’s title challenge and believes that they will need to have strong mental strength to overcome Juventus.

“Mental endurance becomes decisive in these final stages of the season, more than technical, tactical and physical factors,” he said.

“Take Napoli for example. In my opinion they’ve played very good football, the best. But sometimes it’s not enough to win.

“It was enough to lose against Juve, with a little bit of bad luck, and here they felt the effect more mentally. Sarri admitted it too.”

That's true, but then Pogba, Jorginho & Hamsik all came on, yet still to no effect. We held are own against Milan in the first half, it's was only after the goal that we fell apart, but that was not a tactical fault. We should play 4-2-3-1 because with Brozovic playing deep we transition the ball better from defense to attack, which has been our main problem all season. Also Perisic is on fire, as well as our offense looking more dangerous & threatening.

Our best lineup IMO. Unless we wanted to try Brozo - Kondogbia

Biabia and best...common,Roma will expose that mf,we need 3 bodies in there, Kondogbia was very good against Bologna(-that blunder).
Brozo loves to advance, leaving Medel all alone.
We can't attack Roma with numerical superiority in attack.
We need to sit and wait patiently like in the first game.
We just can't go in to open battle with their superior mf with 2 central mf's.

I mean best lineup from who's available.

I don't know, maybe I don't fear Roma as much as some of you do. They're good but I think we should play our game. We've looked better in a 4-2-3-1 then a 4-3-3 lately, so I would prefer we stick to it. Kondogbia played well against Bologna, but in a 4-2-3-1. He has never looked all that comfortable as a LCM for me.

If I wanted to make that lineup more defensive I would switch Kondogbia for Brozovic, not add him at the expense of Biabiany. I think the proposed lineup is actually pretty balanced. You will struggle to find two harder working wingers than Perisic and Biabiany. Not to mention Eder is no slouch. It will end up looking more like a 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1 when we're defending. That covers the pitch well, I don't see it as a overally attacking formation unless you play it that way.

Its a difficult match but I think we can win it, I am expecting it to have lots of goals 2-1 or 3-2 because their defence is shaky especially if rudiger plays , which I hope he does. The problem with roma is the quality their midfield offers so I think Mancini will try to pack the midfield and I kinda agree with him on that so I am leaning towards having medel and kondogbia and brozovic start along with eder perisic and liajcic and biabiany as a super sub. On the defence I hope telles plays on the lb side or maybe nagatomo since he can tame salah. Di ambrosio or santon whose form is better should start. Santon has incredible lapses when defending but he is good on the offenisve side so it might be a good idea to actually start him. After this imagine mancini goes with 3-5-2 nah mancini mirrors his opponents usually :p

It will end up looking more like a 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1 when we're defending.

This. A lot of fuss about 4-2-3-1 being too attacking, but of course it depends on personnel and the instruction they receive.

With Biabiany and Perisic tracking back, the formation can defend perfectly well. It just leaves us a tad thin in MF.

Eder, Perisic, Ljajic are starting because any other attacker close to 1st choice is hurt or out (totally worth it for the 10 seconds of time wasting vs Bologna, tho :yao:). Medel and Brozovic will likely play in MF.

The only question, then, is K-Dog (4-3-3) or Biabiany (4-4-2). This decision will determine whether we clog the MF or play with 4 attackers and go for the 3 points.

I think Mancini will opt for the latter and Biabiany gets the start.
