Is he our record signing? At 65 million?
This is one of the longest thread on transfer & rumours and it didn't end up we eat someone's dust.
Grande Marotta.
Well, if we're to believe basically all the reports from Italy and England for the past 4 weeks, where it was "either 83mln straight or get lost" then the only one who was schooled here is you with your blind bias.Marotta was schooled by fucking Woodward, because of Conte's insistence on Lukaku.
There is nothing grande about this deal except for the hole it caused in our pockets.
The price is 65m€ + 10m€ bonuses so it's 75m€. Then 5% resale price, so if we sell him for 100m€, we will give 5m€ to United. A) We hardly sell him B) If we sell him, we won't sell him for 100m€, but much less so we pay United few millions MAX
It's not a catastrophic price by any means, but a bit too much for Lukaku's level IMO. But let's see if he can live up to that price.
There are so many different prices. Di Marzio said 65 million + 13 million, BBC, Telegraph and HLN (very reliable for Belgian players) said deal is worth upto 80 million euros.
The price is 65 + 10, that's Di Marzio's latest. The "up to 80m€" is precisely the same narrative, 75m€ + resale value added to that (interpretation of +5m€ from that).
Reporters want to present it the way it's favourable to their side => English reporters report it with the max number (resale part calculated with 100m€ sale price).

Man United paid £75m for Romelu Lukaku in 2017 and will pay £5m to Everton now, as he’s been sold before the end of his current contract. Everton got £80m in total for him.
Man United now receive up to £73.7m from Inter.
