Immobile looked great with Torino and at Lazio. But he's failed in Dortmund and Sevilla. I also have not liked him with national team. He is almost four years older than Belotti, I feel it's too late for him to become an important player for a big team. Belotti is a Torino captain and seems to be mentally strong. Not sure exactly how good he would be here, but I feel confident that he would at least not flop.

Are we so sure Belotti or Immobile would be that much less expensive than Lukaku? I personally don't think so. Both Cairo and Lotito are notoriously difficult to deal with and aren't going to sell their star strikers on the cheap.

Not really sure why "skin colour" is highlighted. I'd love to have a striker on Inter that looks like me, but I'd rather someone who is a better fit for this team (where they are from or what they look like doesn't matter at all).

83 million for Lukaku is ridiculous. Based on the kind of player he is, our midfield isn't anywhere close to being good enough to make that money we would spend on him worthwhile.

The more I think about it, the more Cavani makes sense. High quality player, short term commitment, buys us time to get a long term replacement, gives us some flexibility to add dzeko. Lukaku doesnt make us scudetto contenders and it's impossible for us to finish lower than 3rd so why bother chasing ManU and their price demands? ManU doesnt seem to want Lukaku anyway so he can be their burden until they give in
