I miss his speed that he used to have. He was our best attacker yesterday which isn't saying much.

He was? He barely was involved in the game

Obviously better than Dzeko whose involvement was negative :D

I did say "which isn't saying much". At least Lukaku wasn't losing so many balls as our starting attackers and also scored a penalty. I say that warrants the "he was our best attacker yesterday"

I don't think that. And I also don't think that Lukaku is a top 5 striker in Italy, let alone Europe, so there's that.

Well, losing zero out of zero balls isn't impressive by any means.

He actually did mess up 2 potentially dangerous chances and had a rather bad run in the box in another occasion, so I wouldn't claim that he was any good last night. Penalty conversion is all he has going for him. And while a good thing, it's not a net positive. Not last night, not this season.

Ironically, the only positive contribution he had aside from the PK goal was drifting away from the ball at our own half which enabled the other players to start a counter attack... In other times, he'd claim that ball and "hold up", which people love, even if it was going to be followed up by a bad decision.

Our other forwards don’t even have penalty conversion going for them…. And are failing at everything you listed Lukaku isn’t doing well

This is true.

Lukaku messes up way too much opportunities when it comes to trying to get the ball and dish it forward successfully.

His hold-up play is so random, in some matches he does it fairly well, some matches, not so much. It's way too random to call it effective.

Our players tend to do that alot. Way too many to mention. Just one happened right at the start of the match when a ball reached Dzeko inside the box and his terrible control bounced the ball off his feet. Any player with a decent ball control could stop the ball and go through the goal and score.

But our players ruin these opportunities a lot that we don't even see it as important anymore, but it is indeed these moments which could decide the fate of the matches.

For what I remember, just against Benfica Dzeko, Martinez, Dimarco, Lukaku and Gosens did that. You count how many times we do that in every match.

Absolutely useless. Gave him every chance. Can't wait to ship this cunt back to Chelsea.

Today he was okayish as a target you give the ball to, but he didn't really manage to get much out of it in the end.

And of course he blew a great opportunity to head the ball in, was totally free without interference from any defender and yet he just can't hit the ball.

If this guy is the top earner at the club and presents himself in the way he does, why would anyone else be motivated to play?
That's a very good point indeed.

It feels like Barella for instance is very frustrated to Lukaku everytime Lukaku does some Lukaku things. I've been thinking this salary issue might be one. Top earner, he comes back with big words and he's absolutely fucking useless piece of shit without Conte organizing every last detail and movement in the team to serve him.

The only time a team had to be hard with us in negotiations, they went soft and let us ruin our season with having this clown back. Fuck Chelsea and fuck anyone who preferred this shitbag over Dybala!

Agree but that's not Lukaku's fault, it's more on the bunch of clowns running the club.
For the amount we've spent on Lukaku and Correa, both in terms of transfer fees and wages, seeing them play 70 minutes for one and 90 + minutes for the other like this against Inter reject Caldirola and Pablo Mari just feels like a kick in the nuts.
The money we spent stings especially considering that if you sum their goal contributions they've scored less than players like Nzola or Boulaye Dia, not even talking about Dybala because it still hurts like a motherf*cker everytime I see him score with Roma.

His last goal from open play in Serie A was back in August. We're now in mid-april. The fact that it is not already branded in the management's brain that this is a complete failure and we need to stay away from him as soon as the season ends is beyond me.
