Yeah, like when Immobile went outside Serie A and totally failed.Inzaghi's done great work with Immobile, it's not impossible he could improve Lukaku further.
Also, I think Vlahovic would be a big gamble. Seen too many of these young strikers get hype after one great season.
i don't agree. Yes Conte and Hakimi are gone but there is still a winning team. We still need to see how good Hakan and Dimarco are and how much it will change to have Nandez instead Hakimi. Inzaghi only coached Lazio, but he know what winning means, he plays the same formation then Conte, only with diffrent (better!) players that he had at Lazio.Even though I think Lukaku is our best player, 130m sounds like a great deal considering our situation. If Inter had money and were targeting silverware, I can understand rejecting 130m. But with the Hakimi sale, the coach downgrade and the kind of players we are being linked with, I think our realistic objective is CL qualification. If that is the case, a player of Lukaku's value is wasted. It may make sense to sell Lukaku if we get such a crazy offer and use that money to buy some quality younger players who can help us quickly rebuild when we have money.
Lukaku's worth will nosedive in the next year or two, even if he keeps his form. He is of that age. This is the best time to cash in and buy some quality younger players like Vlahovic and Raspadori. And maybe use the spare change to buy a top class full back like Gosens.
Using the same logic, if Inter get big offers for players like Brozovic (40m+) or even our best defender De Vrij (50m+), we should take it. And we should accept any offers for Perisic, Sanchez or Vidal, though we are unlikely to receive any.
Lets not make the same mistake Moratti made in 2010. Its time to cash in on the ageing champions, and build a more sustainable model.
I don’t agree. Eaven if we lose Lukaku it do not mean we cant win a scudetto or we cant get other good players to replace him? Funny but same thing was said when we sold Icardi and got ”flop” Lukaku -> 5 years setback!i don't agree. Yes Conte and Hakimi are gone but there is still a winning team. Selling Lukaku would mean goodbye scudetto chances for at least other 5 years if not more, simple. Inter in this moment still has a chance to win something. The group improved, there is something called "winning mentality" in the team, something that we never had in this last 10 years. I believe that there is a chance to see Inzaghi doing the same like Allegri did when Conte leaved Juve.
if youre selling Lukaku then youre doing it to get someone like Halland, not Raspadori. Sadly it's not possibile to get him. Halland or a good Lukaku replacement would cost +160M probably...so yeah, i would think twice about it.
Funny but same thing was said when we sold Icardi and got ”flop” Lukaku -> 5 years setback
Lukaku is not Icardi.I don’t agree. Eaven if we lose Lukaku it do not mean we cant win a scudetto or we cant get other good players to replace him? Funny but same thing was said when we sold Icardi and got ”flop” Lukaku -> 5 years setback!
With Lukaku transfer fee + his annual cost gone it would be huge boost to our finances and with new sponsors and crowd back to stadiums we could be back to fight players like Hakimi… Lukaku has been good but not irreplaceable... maybe to Conte he was, but we dont know can Inzaghi get same effectiveness out of him + maybe other players get more room and step up and score more?
and I agree 100% with Bluenine that 2010 we should have sold most of our players like Maicon, Lucio, Milito and pring in new blood like Cavani, Sanchez, Casemiro… But Moratti went sentimental and hold on those players and rest is history.
2010 we also lost Mourinho and that something called "winning mentality" was gone with few months. We also dont know is Inzaghi 3-5-2 better than Conte’s and we will never gonna find that out cause we already have lost Eriksen and Hakimi so we need to think new tricks and sort out our finances!
Yes Lukaku will probably be good under Inzaghi? But 130 million is crazy money!!! That would open us delicious opportunity! We could affort to clean Vidal and Nainngolain + others out of our roster. Then we could go after players like Locatelli, Lazzari maybe include Alonso that Lukaku deal and get a new striker and next year go after Pessina… build a solid fucking team without financial issues and get new growing talents/assets to our team! I would also sell De Vrij now and go after Romero and Milenkovic.Lukaku is not Icardi.
as i said, if there is a good way to replace him, then yes. But getting Vhalovic or other "young stars" could end bad.
I think Lukaku will be important, even without Conte. We saw it at the Euros and generelly every time he plays for Belgium. He's another player now.
2010 was something else. That team won everything and most of them were starting to get old. This team is still hungry. That's why i compare it with Juve after conte was leaving. They still had a great team. As long the coach isn't the last cunt, they can keep that mentality (like Allegri did)
Sure i agree about Hakimi and Eriksen gone, we need to see what the replacements will make. On paper we have a realistic chance to play for the scudetto. Not saying a "big chance" or something like that, because it's impossible to predict it. Im anyway sure that everything is possible.
So it's indeed at least Lukaku who rejected. I could think that was enough for the club.

Sell Lukaku if you want but don't touch the defence.Yes Lukaku will probably be good under Inzaghi? But 130 million is crazy money!!! That would open us delicious opportunity! Well based those reports that we needed to raise 70-80 million and cut 20% from salaries. So with Hakimi and Politano sale we already have that. Plus we could still sell some players like Vecino and youngters and free up more money?well, we've sold Hakimi and we still have no transfer budget. How do you know we could spend 130 milion for new players? I guess we would buy Belotti or Raspadori and that's it. Massive downgrade without proper replacement.
What if we lose one of Bastoni, De Vrij or Skriniar for 3-6 months? Lets say someone got like knee injury? Kolarov, Rano, Dambro???Sell Lukaku if you want but don't touch the defence.
