We're too late, he joined Lazio :'(Wasn't it Sculli?
We will not be saving over 80 million euros.. Eto'o will have a replacement. Not to mention the fact that we will be losing 37 goals and 13 assists.. Eto'o was worth so much more than we are saving or in fact being paid, if we are to compare him to the rest of the squad.. There's so much more that this guy brought to the squad that we will be losing..What is the point? The point is we save over 80m€ over three years time. That is the point. We aren't making enough money to sustain our current wage structure. How many times this has to be go through in Inter financial situation thread/in this thread? And don't answer with "we should get rid of Pandev, Mariga, Muntari, Rivas" because we've tried and so far we've able to get rid of Mariga. And even those all combined do not match Eto'o's salary or his transfer fee.

But you guys should take a different stance, a different attitude to Inter situation. You gotta understand we have to balance the books so getting rid of Eto'o's contract is a big boost in that aspect. You gotta understand the quality of this team is going to get lower. That's the premise, that's the undeniable fact which is going to happen in this summer. After these facts are acknowledged and understood, it's much easier to continue forward.
Put the necessary pieces around Eto'o to go for 1st, the second choice should not even be an option! We are Inter, a supposedly elite team, not Genoa or even Napoli -- where such actions would be tolerable.Eto'o could be scoring 100 goals and providing 50 asssist, but it doesn't do us much good if we finish second because the rest of our team isn't as good. When u have a 30yr old player like Eto'o you have 2 options.
• take advantage of his talents, spend big and build a team around him and go for the CL. A player like Eto'o can win you everything with the right team (and coach) around him.
• if you are unable to do that, you sell the 30yr for a big price and free up his wages.
We weren't going to build a team that could stand up to Barca & co. anytime soon, so not much use when all that Eto'o can win u is 2nd place.
Ibrahimovic is 7 months younger than Samu.. and had a crappier season and joined for a similar fee +/- 5 million euros..Its still the biggest fee any 30+ year old has ever come for. So calling it crap is really unfair imho. Might be less then we would wish for but its hardly crap.

If we sell Eto'o, Moratti better shut his mouth about us being any sort of champions or us being any sort of contenders for the UCL, for Serie A will be a mission without Eto'o, much less the UCL..
