Maybe not such a good idea to have it after the referendum in September though. I'd have left it till next year or so.

Yeh probably a bit controversial especially with it being at Celtic park and the politics that the Celtic supporters stereotypical have

It was more because you could either potentially have trouble with salty english fans in the event of a yes vote, or in the event of a no vote the game could be portrait as a 'celebration of the union' or some pish. Neither is too desirable. But, I suppose that is worth mentioning too, especially with the Irish game. Could be an eventful 4 days. :)

Do you think the English are bothered ? I've noticed that whenever the question is raised I see a shrug of the shoulders and keep hearing "They can do what they want" with a few "they'll come crawling back" thrown in for good measure.
However if the vote was in England and it was "Shall we kick the Scottish out" I reckon the vote would be a definite NO.
If I was Scottish I'd vote Yes but only because it represents a blank canvass and a opportunity to build a country for the 99%.
Ironically Salmon himself is in the 1% so it'll probably be more a case of "Meet the new boss... same as the old Boss".

No, I don't think they give a shit. For now at least. But the reality will presumably have hit by then, and of course a Scotland england tie is just the thing to bring out any resentment.

As for the Salmond thing, I wouldn't make the mistake of thinking the vote has much if anything to do with him. Scotland will pick its leader in 2016, so a Yes vote doesn't mean a vote for him. He'll be dead in 30 years anyway, there's a far bigger picture people miss when they cite their irrational hatred of Salmond as a reason for No.

If we have to pay import duty on IRN BRU I'm going to start smuggling cans over the Border.
As for the resentment and the tie itself... no change there then ;)

Because there is no reason to vote No. Litterally zero.

Yes, why should we stay in a country which doesn't respond to our needs as a people, why should there be people starving and relying on food banks in a supposed rich country, why should we vote no for "some" powers which nobody can agree on us getting when we can vote yes to be fully in charge of our country, why should we partake in more illegal wars that Westminster seem intent on getting us dragged into, why should we have to have nuclear submarines in our rivers which prevent us from reaching valuable oil reserves. Countries which are far smaller than us in size have far more MEP's than us so independence would allow a greater say in Europe. The fact that we give more to Westminster than we get back from them means we would be sustainable, The fact that the NHS (our free healthcare system) and our position in Europe is at threat with
the votes are heading mean it would do us well to gtfo of Britain.

Also the sheer lack of any decent argument by the NO campaign and the obvious bias towards it by the BBC really annoys me which in turn has steered me away from it.

it will depend on scotlands policies how it will survive . If the majority of scotland support that socialist party the whole country will suffer worse than it does now

Do what Australia could not and become a republic. Also, I hear you people may have to change currency to the euro if it goes through.

I have a curious question, what about the Queen, she's Duchess of Edinburgh, if Scottish vote yes, that also removes her title ?

Wrong. We will use the pound - Its a fully tradable currency that no one can stop us using.

It's actually impossible to join the euro upon independence anyway as you first have to join the ERM II (which is entirely voluntary), then be in it for two years before you get to join the full eurozone.

This is the problem we face. No offense, but your evidently in a position of ignorance, hence accept what they've heard in mainstream media (?). Which is absolutely fine since your in Australia, but the problem is there are countless people HERE who can't be arsed to do the smallest bit of research into the facts and instead just rely on the half truths, omissions, and flat out lies from the MSM, which is utterly biased in their coverage. Hence why the BBC was mentioned above.

Agreed. Don't see it happening though.

Didn't even know that
