Milan are now favourites to win the scudetto.. very good summer for them until now.
Their starting line up last season was more or less Tonali-benacer-diaz. Bennacer is out till Christmas, the other two are gone. There is no guarantee that their new midfielders will start clicking together immediately. They have also many players coming aboard and maybe for most of them it will take time to adjust to the seria A.
For me Napoli and Jube are the main contenders. The latter only because they have one game per week.

That approach is great for the balance sheet Scudetto.
If there was a big gap between Inter and Milan I would argue otherwise. In fact it was not. Last year we were only a bit better than them (+1 in both CL and Serie A). But if you counted the Scudetto year before + the youth progress + balance sheet pushed their approach more optimal.

We supposed to have a strong core to reach CL final, true, but partly. As our players are either too old or too costly, we have to replace up to 30% of the squad every year and the risk on the newcomers adaptation brings the instability.

Look at our successful oldies deals and see. Dzeko Acerbi Mikhy were good, obviously. Might be Cuadrado or Sommer. But we must think of replacing several of our starting XIs already.

Only in the case winning significant titles grandpas investment are worthy. But we were still far; even further this season. There is a big gap between us and City or any powerhouse in Europe. And literally nearly 20p or so versus Napoli.

In terms of investment absolutely and we need to be realistic with the fact that we are operating on a shoestring compared to some. But this is not a, vintage era of european football, you have most of the "legacy clubs" in a financial mess and on the field they aren't much better. If you look around Europe compared to say ten years ago when you had Bayern, barca, real, juve, chelsea and athletico constantly blocking out the semis and finals. This is a bit of a golden opportunity to have another good european run and thus not have to continue to offload our most valuable assets every summer.

Despite the lopsided nature of the finances in Europe's game being worse than ever I think this is probably the weakest the top sides have been in decades. What im basically saying is Inter will win this year's champions league..

Did Singo have a poor season last year? It seems like his hype died down a bit. Also it looks like he started only 24 matches last year, compared to 32 the year before.

He suffered a long injury and he is not the same player after that. Maybe he needs more time for full recovering, or maybe he is just worst than before.

DEAL DONE✅ Man Utd have signed 20 year old Rasmus Højlund from Atalanta. Contract until 2028. €70M deal including add ons💥⚽️ #manutd #transfers
These guys say that is 70mln bonuses included. Huge fee anyway. Just to remind that some people here thought we can get him for 40-50mln.

Wow! 70m for a 20yo kid with only a promising (not spectacular) season in Serie A.
I wanted him for 60m. I know it is a big fee for us but 2,5-3m/y with 5 year contact would be a 17-18m/y amortisation cost. Pretty much for us but doable.
Anyway that ship is gone.

I watched him a few games, as many on this forum. The kid is talented no doubt. But he should have stayed for 2 more years at Atalanta. The jump is pretty big for him. And obviously he will need at least one year to adapt. Ten Hag will want to develop him. But United is not Ajax. And he needs results. I can see also a scenario where he will receive only few minutes per game and will fail to develop.

Hojlund will get plenty of time at United. Like 1000 times more than he could ever get at Inter. They didn't pay this much for him to treat him like we do the 20 years olds.

At least United is a more settled team than it has been for a while. They have a good coach going into his second year that has an actual project. They are moving in the right direction and in Champions league again so he will have plenty of opportunities to play.

However that is an insane fee for a kid with half a good season

I am not so sure. The crowd who fight for the CL spots is pretty big. And if they fall behind and Hojlund has no big impact, he will eat the bench. This is not Primera, where Real, Barca or Atletico have practically a guaranteed CL place and can "risk" playing a kid big minutes. United has no such luxury. Even with such a price tag.

I don’t want him to br a flop but if he’s good for them, the price tag will be standard, market is fucked.
