No, I agree with you. He does absolutely nothing on the pitch when he isn't tapping the ball into the net. And he is injury prone. So that was a good decision for Juve to keep Treze. :)

Well, Trezeguet isn´t what he used to be. However he is still OK unlike Ronaldo. Continuity is the key to success and Juve know that. Continuity of course has to be with the right players. Is Trezeguet the right player? I think so. But I am not 100% sure. It is better to keep Trezeguet than get Vieri for example. Vieri is a much better player but I doubt he would succeed there.

He contributes absolutely nothing to a team (and this is why France keeps failing as well), and he´s to me one of the most overrated players ever.

Trezeguet isn't eye candy, but on top form he is a goalscoring machine as he has proven. That being said, he is rarely 100% and match fit enough to contribute much to the team.

Spot on, he's absolutely no good for France. He is not mobile enough to help Henry when he's penetrating from the left flank. Henry needs a partner that can serve him some quality passes and come back and help him get into the penalty box, Saha proved to be able to do that from the few minutes he played in the Euro. Ironic that you mention how terrible hs is, because i have a Laziale friend who rates him as one of the worst player's he's ever seen.

I dont remember an impressive performance by Trez in two or three games in a row...He is sometimes a good finisher, but strikers today have to have many different qualities which he seems to lack especially from what i have seenfrom last years performances

BTW did Fiorentina sign Di Natale already??

Add him with Nakata, Maresca, Guigou, and some more good signings and Fiorentina could be challenging for a UEFA Cup spot

In the last couple of days, they have added Portillo and Ujfalusi to their squad. Very impressive IMO.

I've been talking about Ujfalusi since the amazing Czech Republic-Holland game when he man marked Van Nistelrooy. He's had an awesome tournament and was one of the surprising players that caught my eye. Nice to see Fiorentina's management actually know what they are doing, unlike ours.

They must have some actual football fans with decent IQ scouting players, they're certainly doing some homework.

You are right Patrick. With Hamburg he had his ups and downs, but the whole Hamburg team had a bad season but he proved to be a very good man marker as you mentioned.

Wow, Portillo and Maccarone at Fiorentina? They could turn into one heck of a great attacking duo.

BTW no one has answered my question, is Di Natale a Fiorentina player now?

Not sure about Di Natale, wouldn't be surprised if he goes to Fiorentina. My guess is he'll either end up there or at Palermo since both clubs have just come back from Serie B and seem to have some cash to spend.

I expect Fiorentina to be fighting for a UEFA cup spot, even better then Sampdoria's comeback to Italia last season. I dare say they are building a team that is almost as good as Lazio's or Parma's.

I was impressed by Ujfalusi in the Euro 2004. He was great in all the games that I saw him play. The price paid by Fiorentina may be a tad too high but it could very well pay off since Ujfalusi is only 25 and has the potential to be one the best defender in the next few years.

Accordin to Channel4, Simone Perrotta has moved from Chievo to Roma for a transfer fee of approx. £3 million. In my opinion not too big fee at all for Roma. Good replacement for Emerson in that price.

Here's the source, though either Roma's or Chievo's websites haven't confirmed this yeat.

Well, I don't see how will Mutu improve by going to Juve. A certain Alessandro Del Piero plays in the same position as Adrian and whatever happens, he will always start alongiside David Trezeguet to spearhead Juve's attack. I think it would have been wiser for him to stay at Chelsea as his competitor would be Kezman and Gudjohnsen. I'm sure Mourinho hasn't find the absolute correct partner to Drogba yet.

Moggi is really running out of ideas here, it's no secret that the Juventus defense is going to be crushed in Europe. Signing Mutu not only shows lack of faith in their very own club symbol Del Piero, but it's a slap in the face to Trezeguet who just extended his contract from what i understand. Now, there's gonna be one more unhappy striker on the bench alongside Miccoli. More and more clubs are turning into us. :D

Interesting how Moggi claimed the transfer market was done after the Emerson signing last week right? haha. Expect them to be signing a central defender, very soon.

Cheers.

Stam Chose Milan Over Inter
8/5/2004 9:52:00 PM
Jaap Stam revealed today during his first press conference as an AC Milan player that Roberto Mancini tried to convince him last season to join Inter.
"Mancini spoke about Inter all the time last year but as soon as I heard that the rossoneri wanted me I knew where I wanted to go," the Dutch defender said. "I have won the league in every country that I have played in so the scudetto is a priority for me even though I have me head set on all competitions".

"I chose AC Milan because they are the best team in Italy and probably the world," he added. "I want to win a lot, everything possibly, so I think that I am in the right place to do so".

bla bla .....

==============

If this is exactly what Stam told, then it's clear that Mancini was destined to Inter long time back (during last season). No wonder there were so many rumours all the time that Mancini would join Inter next season. :)
