His league performances fail him big time. Otherwise, he would've been picked up by a club with more resources soon.

But since he'll stay, he needs to translate whatever it is that he does in cups on a weekly level. I honestly feel like he was half assing the Serie A games this season and was here only for the CL run and the domestic cups.

On the other hand, I don't expect our squad to be reinforced, since Suning won't spend a dime. It will be as always-veterans and free agents if any, and if we manage to sell someone, they'll re-invest 10% from the transfer fee on someone completely unproven.

So, we need him and this aging squad to somehow become better over one summer, but without any reinforcements. In other words, everyone will have to improve themselves on their own

By reading some of the messages here you would think this guy is one of the best coaches in the world.... just keep this attitude next season as well, when we are out of the scudetto race. Unil then be happy and proud for a loss in the finals... shame almost none of you praised this master of a coach during his pathetic serie a season... but ok, i am just a stupid drunktard and Inzaghi will show me next season why he is one of the best out there. Cant wait.

Anyway, enjoy the summer.

Everyone wanted him out when we were shit in the league. Your problem is that you dont want to give this man a credit for what he did in CL this season. To blame him for loss in the final cause he didnt field from the start that 🤡 that missed every chance he got is simple being ignorant. Or being just hatefull. Idk what to say more.

Don't have one.
People using his stint in cl to defend or ignore his seria a record, and people using his seria a record to shit on his stint in cl. That's the theme of the last couple of posts here

In reality there should be clear distinction between those two, give credit where its due, give criticism also where its due and that its, it's that simple. No need to pull wool over people eyes of how you always believed in him or how you always thought he was shit and this or that competition proves it. Its kids talk...

Nope. As I remember most people here wanted his head after shitshow in Seria A, I also. You gotta give credit when its deserved. We have here few Conte and Lukaku lovers(or both) who even go so far and say that Conte is responsible for Inter going into this final. So they literally come here only to bash Inzaghi when we lose, never give him any credit he deserves. Cause he is mediocre, he won mickey mouse cups, who cares about CL final, only scudetto matters etc etc..Like Inter is a club like Bayern that wins all time through its history. So not winning scudetto means sacking. Hillarious stuff. Conte lovers, thats it. Many of them would be happy if City destroyed us yesterday, but now when we almost pulled a miracle, well we lost cause Inzaghi suck.. 💩

Im not here to say "always defended Inzaghi" but when he was supposed to get sacked some months ago i always said that it makes no sense if don't have a better alternative. And this will not change, even today. As long the alternatives have the name of Thiago Motta or some comebacks like Mourinho, i will keep Inzaghi and give him another chance, hopefully he will have some better players too.

It's clear as day that the team failed Inzaghi and not the other way around during our dips both last year and this year. A lot of our problems could have been solved simply by putting away a few more easy chances, and that's not on Inzaghi. And yet, he never lost the dressing room and still met expectations in the end.

And yes, there are not many coaches I'd take over Inzaghi at the moment, certainly not Conte, Mourinho or Simeone. Inzaghi is world class, fight me.

I think every coach have specialized in some titles. Conte in league, Inzaghi Copa, and Mourinho in Europe titles. Maybe Pep have more mojoo in Europe than Inzaghi. If Pep meet Inzaghi in Copa. I am sure Pep Will lose.

I am usually an Inzaghi critic but he is still working. Let's not fix coach now but focus other gaps in the team. The final result is predictable beforehand and one-goal defeat is just enough.

I am more worried about our Mercato. Many are not ours (anymore). Dzeko Lukaku Dumbo DeVrij Skriniar Bellanova Acerbi Gags. Some are obviously not Inter material but we still need worthy players to fill their minutes. Too many changes at once might disrupt the harmony of the team as e.g. Lukaku physicality is not easy to replace with little resource.

Huge tasks ahead of next summer for Marotta and Inzaghi. Decide our fate next season. Just don't extend him before seeing the result please.

For me, I have to admit, I think he's made mistakes here and there but I do agree with Cafe that right now I'm not sure, risk conscious, we can get someone better. I think there are some worrying signs from this season and we need to urgently ensure they are resolved otherwise next season could turn into a disaster

I praise Inzaghi for starting Dzeko. Dzeko did his job. We kept clean sheet in the first half. That was our main task. And we accomplished it. Lukaku wouldn't have been able to provide the same defensive work and aerial battling. We can't compare the halves in vacuums and say we would have done better in first half if Lukaku was there in Dzeko's place, based on what Lukaku did in the second half.

My opinion is Dzeko did his job well. Which was to keep the clean sheet. Before the game everyone was hoping it's 0-0 when we can bring Lukaku in and that's what happened. To me our game plan worked very well, we contained City for the most of part of the game. And Dzeko played part in all of that.

Would I have wanted Dzeko there in place of Lukaku for that header? For sure but it's not so simple. It goes to ET, maybe to pens, do I want Lukaku or Dzeko there? Lukaku. I think us winning the game in reg time with Dzeko finishing the game was a longer shot than us winning it in ET/pens.

How come it feels like the same people who went wow he beat the likes of lisabon nd porto buhu are now the ame that are going why should we be happy with a narrow loss against city?
Think about mighty real and carletto looked against this city and then tell me why I cannot be happy with the job inzaghi did with this inter in CL?
For fucks sake think about how great the great ANTONIO conte was with us in CL with a better team... But inzaghi is just a scrub....

Also no saying he s a world beater yet but his work in knockout compettions is astonishing and we have not looked this good against BIG european teams since the fucken trebble and thats a fact.
Now keep in mind that this is the coach who probably got the least financial support of all of our coaches in the last 20 years. Then tell me again why the fuck i cannot be happy with Inzaghi?

Fact is inzaghi has shown a shit ton of promise and i for one dont wanna throw this all away over some petty shit. Especially not if we all are always screaming for longterm projects

The first paragraph here is a fair question.

As a result, I'm fine with the result. It's the manner of the result - we could have actually won this game. I don't think many of us would have expected it, and there's credit (as I've given elsewhere) in being that close to success, but it's like running a 100m sprint in record time, looking great for the win, then falling at the last step. In some ways that hurts more than just being off the pace the entire time.

As I posted elsewhere - macro result - well done. Micro, I think Inzaghi, many of our players, etc, will feel a tinge of regret and missed opportunity. That's where the disappointment comes in
