Like Jimmy had explained, we have a fixed central midfield duo at that time in Emre and C.Zanetti, not to mention Di Biagio and Almeyda. Whereas, our wingers were jokers such as Morfeo, Sergio Conceicao or Okan Buruk. Combined with the fact that Dalmat impressed most on the flanks, and not in the centre, it is clear that on the wings is where we need him. Dalmat though, insisted that he should be used in the middle.

Cuper even sacrificed Emre to play on the left-flank at times, to accomodate Dalmat in the middle, where it clearly should have been the other way round. One clear occasion that I remember is the clash against Brescia away in 02/03.

All these facts eventually led to Dalmat's exit from Inter.

Stankovic isn't and never were a quality winger. He too is and was best at CM.

Yeah, Dekis best position is CM, but he can also play as RM. Just he is not LM, like Mancini used to play him... I think that is why he was in bad form, the LM position didn't suit him...

It's a shame and perhaps even a mistake to play Dejan as a pure winger. He's one of the best in his best position, so why don't use him there frequently?

Former Inter midfielder Stephane Dalmat has revealed how Ronaldo ‘never wanted to get on the scales’ because his weight ‘bothered him’.

Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers to have ever played football, but the latter part of the Brazilian’s career was blighted by issues with his weight.

“We had to weigh ourselves with Cuper every Tuesday and and Ronaldo never wanted to get on the scales,” Dalmat told RMC Sport.

“It was a psychological issue. He didn’t want to see his weight because it was something that bothered him.

“There was tension and it often ended badly. Cuper was very strict about it, but Ronaldo didn’t want to know and never did.”

The Frenchman spent two seasons with Inter between 2001 and 2003 but is considered to have never fulfilled his potential.

“I fell into depression after I stopped playing,” continued the 39-year-old.

“I had some personal problems and became a recluse. I haven’t done anything for six years.

“For now I’m having fun, but at some point I’ll have to find a job and something to do when I get up in the morning.” :eek:kay:
