Moreover, I'd wager that the way you gain those muscles are a huge factor, naturally or not and in that case the amount of drugs taken plays a role as well.

Yep, certain steroids certainly are supposed to increase the likeliness of injuries. At the same time steroids are also supposed to help with recovery. However, I wouldn't put Jovetic's injuries down to PEDs though. I'm sure 90+% of top footballers are on some type of PED cocktail.

The human body can only take so much training. Being injured or not does not increase the time you lift weights, on the contrary it reduces the lifting part and concentrate on rehabilitation/physiotherapy.

Edit: Batman, when was Icardi ever big?! :chan:
A good example of someone who just got fatter when injured is Gundogan

His first days at Inter he looked overweight, dunno whether you have noticed that or not.

Icardi was definitely overweight during his first season at Inter. Look at a picture of him in our first year and compare that to him at the end of last year. I would say he lost at least 7-10 pounds.

Icardi was 19 right in his first season? Maybe it was because he wasn't as muscular as he is now? Dunno just a theory.

No, in the first half of that season he had a groin injury and only started training regularly with the team in February. He was overweight for most of the season which is why Mazzarri didn't use him very often before March.

Starting to understand why Man City didn't want him. He has good iq, but is too much of a ball hog. This isn't Barca.

Shouldn't the most technically talented guy in the side hog the ball?

A SS hogging the ball significantly slows down the tempo of the game, and makes your attacks a lot more predictable and easy to defend against.

So you think he would play CF or not at all? Cassano as a player often did the same thing when he was SS and people had no problem with him

I'm not disagreeing with you btw.

Yeah, he is very much like Cassano. And we did have a problem with it... I think if Jovetic had a bunch of other technical players around him, then slow tempo would be ok. But when he slows down the game, our squad's lack of technical ability is severely exposed. Our best bet is to use speed of execution and be unpredictable, rather than try to be Barca-like.

Idk about him playing CF. He has the height for it. Maybe it would work, but again we have no one to feed him, and he's not much of a renown goalscorer.

Cassano had double digit assists in multiple seasons, his decision making was 10 times better, he never lost the ball as much as jovetic did today

I think Mancini needs to have a chat with both Icardi and Jovetic in the room. Jovetic needs to play more for Icardi, because for the good of the team it's important that your striker scores goals. We will go further with an in form Icardi. Now on the other hand Icardi has to help Jovetic by presenting an option when the game slows down and not just playing off the last man all the time. Just work for each other idiots.
