But I can honestly tell you that some of the woman's I saw, I will gladly let them take advantage of me and I would be a proud man. She lives in Barranquilla so I definitely have to visit Barranquilla and plan some trips to Cartagena and Santa Marta but I will start in Medellin or Bogota.

My friend also told me that Cali is still a no-go area for me, especially because of my characteristics. According to him it's one of the most dangerous cities of the world. Now I know my friend likes to exaggerate but even the girl who I will visit told me she rather not go to Cali.

Any way the thing is people go to Colombia looking for trouble and will find it. Don’t go looking for cocaine, weed or prostitues and you should be fine. If you go to a nice club you will find a hot rich girl who will be down. Issue is Europeans and Americans go down there and are 50 divorced and fat. Go throwing money around then try to pick up a high school chick. Your going to get robbed or worse

People always go to countries and think they can act like they always do. It baffles me how naive some people are when travelling abroad. You always have places you shouldn't go to and everybody knows if you flashing money or jewelry you will get robbed but that will also happen in Europe.

Yeah the part of plastic surgery is well known, you just have to take a quick look at instagram/tiktok. I always wondering if girls in Colombia get a plastic surgery package for their 16th birthday, allmost every girl has something done to her body and they all look a like. I will probably fly to Medellin first, stay there and move to Barranquilla and Cartagena. Still wondering if Bogota is worth visiting because I will only go for 2/3 weeks. Bogota sucks it’s London….. also high altitude and only place I have ever gotten sun burned even though it was pretty cold there especially when you are wet. Right now Cali, bogota and Medellin have some civil protest so I don’t think you want to go to those places right now.

This sentence convinced me. I've booked my flight and will go to Colombia for 3 weeks in September. Hopefully the corona virus is in control and the protests are over. I will go to Medellin, Barranquilla, Cartagena and Santa Marta. not to bad I imagine. Expect to come back with some soa's or leaving behind some pregnant woman but that's a calculated risk.

I got a job offer last night from a friend whose business is expanding and doing really well. The pay is better than what I'm making currently, it's 8 hours a day instead of my current 9, and I'd be working with my long-term friends (they own the business together).

I talked about it with them more and have been pretty excited tbh, so I basically told them I'd give my 2 weeks and join them. I go and tell my boss that I want to give my 2 weeks but he said he's willing to match my pay and hours (I'd be making more than some of my higher-ups). He then tells me the business is making 40-50 million this year and that by next year I could almost double what im making now. I dont exactly believe I'd ever make double what im currently making now lol.

I just feel I'd be happier with my friends now. I want to maintain a good relationship with my current employer but I feel like if I decline his offer it could make things sour. On top of that I've been thinking, if the business is making so much why do I make so little? Why was he willing to match their offer immediately? If that's the case shouldn't I and my other co-workers be making a lot more than we should given how much work we are responsible for?

I'm kind of torn here. I can continue how things are with a decent increase in pay and hours that would have me be happier or I can move on to a new place with those things in place for me from the get-go. I'd be missing health benefits but thats about it really.

I don't give you a clear advice but remember, there's rarely friendship in work. Business means making profit, they want to keep you now for many reasons but it's benefit them, not you. They also can replace you if they can or have to. He said company willing to match the salary meaning you were undervalue before. Same with your friend business, if it doesn't go well, your friendship can be broken.
Either way, choose what you feel happy and gives you energy to work for. Don't feel bad if things don't work out, from what you told, it seems you're valuable man, you can have many more chance in future.

If I were you and had already agreed to join your friends then that’s what I’d do. Similar to the post above, you were clearly undervalued. It happens to people a lot, especially those who are loyal and stay for a long time where as those who leave places every 2/3 years typically earn more from what I’ve seen. Doesn’t pay to be loyal, which is why I can’t get mad at footballers when they leave for more.

you run the risk of falling out with your mates if they try to shaft you in the future and it is a business so they’ll either swing on the side of he’s a mate and use that to not give you increases to save costs or because you are you’ll get special treatment. Similarly, if you go back on your word now you’ll maybe sour things a little but easily repairable. Maybe just don’t mention your current employer raised your salary to match their offer in case they take it in such a way that you were just using them for a wage rise.

your current boss saying your salary might double again in a few years is pure BS. They were happy to pay you less now, no way will they double your salary for the same job (unless you’re seriously seriously underpaid ). He’s dangling the carrot with that one.
