So we found him yesterday sadly to late....

Really fucked up situation all i m gonna say is talk to your boys/girls and try digg a bit deeper every now and then when they always only give you a good good when you ask em how shits going...

sorry for your lost man.

I have a nephew I watch closely and take out all the time. He is 11 love him like a son. I really fear for him. His parents are divorced and his dad is such a fucking dick. Like it was his birthday this week and he promised the kid a bike and then told him he didnt have money to buy it for him. Guy has a 600k house (which is a fk ton of money for a house where we live) . I offered to buy it for him but then my sister told me the bike was $700. Who offers a 11 year old a $700 bike! Like sometimes the dad drops him off and his little brother at my place at 11 am they wake up at 6 and they go dude we are so hungry. It's like feed your fking kids bro !

I mean he has mentioned in the past he wants to die because of how his dad and step mom treat him. I told my sister to try and get full custody. His dad is old and like pretty much wants the kids to be trophies when around people but invisible when they are not needed.

it would totally wreck me if anything happened to him. The step mom kicked him out of the house and chased him around with a bat. Told him she wished he and his brother didnt exist. I told him that not everyone going to like you and that she just had a baby and being a step parent can't be easy. I told him about postpartum depression but he was like she has hated him for 3 years.

I know how you feel, man. I had a friend who went through mental depression. She didn't commit suicide but she stopped eating because she was so stressed out and she had malnutrition and eventually died. Only time will "heal"

I'm sorry to hear that mate. Usually, no one lets anyone know how they are really going.

We had to return my wife's car since her lease ended. We went to get another one. It was $200 more a month than our previous lease. They said because the incentives expired that is the best they could do. They also wouldn't allow up to extend the lease unless we bought the car which was odd.

She had a Toyota Rav 4 and I guess they are very hard to get now with a long waiting period. Since neither of us actually have to go to work until September it's when most Corps are forcing back to work 3x a week. We decided to risk it and just give them their car back. We have 2 really little kids and they puked in the back way too many times for our liking + all the crap they got back there while eating. (Don't let your kids eat in the car)

When we went to other dealerships they all have 3 year financing. When I got my car it was 7 years for 0% interest so I bought the car instead of leasing. Best I found was 0% for 3 years which ends up being close to $800 a month for a $32k car. How are people fking living ? With $800/m car + 1,500-2k rent before utlities/food?

Should have probably kept the rav4 and sell it if you don't need it. My in law got a rav4 for their winter beater and it took them 8 months to get it.

How did you like Rav4?
I was very close to buying one three days ago, but decided for a cheaper option (Peugeot 3008) instead. I really love the look and feel (agressive robust look) and the hybrid+petrol option, but my needs are very limited (I work from home, wife at home with a 3 month old baby) to pay 50% more for Rav4 compared to the same mileage (kilometer-age in Europe  ), generation, safety and tech equipment in the Peugeot.
I'm pretty sure I will end up buying one in the future.

honestly all cars are the same. I had a Q5 (my old job basically paid for it because they didnt like me going to clients in 8 year old Jetta).

Then went to a Nissan Rogue. Love it now on my 3rd one( I lease and don't drive alot so they usually just let me get a new 1 every 2 years for the same $$$). My wife had a Mazda CX 5, Honda CR-V and a Toyota Rav4.

Out of all of them the Mazda drives the best no fking doubt about it. Even better than the Audi. The navigation system and the smart system fking SUCKS !!! Not touch screen and placed in a real odd spot. Also the back window is super tiny. Also smallest of the 4 cars.

Honda and Toyota pretty much the same tho we liked the Toyota much better.

FOr me tho the Nissan Rogue is the best. Cheapest, biggest and has the best touch screen and tech features. Potentially the worst drive but come on it's a fking SUV not a sports car. My car has a 360 camera which makes parking a breeze.

I would say The Rav 4 is def the best but when comparing Tech Features and price. Rogue or the Murano is nicer to if you want something slightly bigger.

We are looking at Potentially the Volkswagen SUV Tiguan or the their UV. We just waiting on seeing what happens with interest rates and going back to work.

Thanks, that's a nice write-up.

I drive 90% around the city (and even that is very rarely nowadays), where really safety and tech features, automatic gearbox and practical boot space are the most important aspects (especially with a newborn and stroller and stuff). I just could not justify myself the RAV4 even though it's a superior vehicle. Plus I tried a used one with a lot of rattling noises everywhere, it seems someone really had a lot of bumpy rides with it, so that when I tried Peugeot 3008 afterwards, it was such a smooth and pleasant ride that it was a no-brainer.
New RAV4 though is a different story, but can't justify that price-tag.

How can you drive these Japanese cars? Too weird driving feeling for me. Heck, I prefer the American cars to the Japanese ones when it comes to the driving experience. I feel like I'm in Mario Kart everytime I have to drive a Toyota or a Nissan.

Give me any German car that's not Audi or BMW. Wouldn't change my Mercedes for anything less than an Italian super beauty though. Big fan of Volvo, too, but never owned one.

German you are automatically looking at 50k. What you do get from German cars is a cool factor and people thinking you have a money because your are stupid enough to get a car that cost 1k every time you take it in for service.

American Chevy are garbage and go for 40, Ford want 40-50 at that point buy German. I had a ford Edge for a bit. Got rid of it had electrical problems after 1 year. Like I had to keep the windows down or the car wouldn't start on a hot day. My first car was a ford explorer. The drivers seat belt broke. And they charged me $300 to fix it. After that day I was like FK ford.

Japanese are 30-35k and are superior both.

Korean cars use to be cheap in the US but now cost around the same as Japanese cars.

We don't have Peugeot in the US. Even if we did they would make it unaffordable with taxes that its better to just get the Japanese car any way.

so after you buy the car you need to pay tax on it so close to 7% in Connecticut where I live.

Then I need to pay property tax on said car every year. So the state goes hey this car you paid $30k for is actually worth 40k. Of that 40k we will be cool and charge you $50 per $1,000 per year. We also don't really go by market so your 8 year old car is worth 20k instead of 8k you would actually get if you sell it. I mean it goes down per year but not by a lot.

the worst thing is insurance. I use to park on the street where everyone would hit your bumper. Cars would get stolen in the hood in Boston. My insurance was 1/3rd of what it is in a rich town in CT. I don't get how that shit works. My cars are in a garage and are barely driven.

my brother lives in NYC and it cost $300-400 a month to park a car in their building haha.

So Opel will do? :D

Volvo is a really nice "premium" option.

It's a different world in US.
You guys can get top spec RAV4 for 45k, here it costs 80k USD :D
Also, Bosnia and entire Balkans for that matter are like a car graveyard for the rest of Europe, we import ton of used vehicles and they are expensive. To get BMW X3 for example you have to pay like 25-30k EUR for 2017 version :D (and of course you have to worry if someone rolled back the mileage on it :D ).

French vehicles are somewhere in between, not really budget but not premium. They de-value a lot in the first 2-3 years.

yea I have too many hobbies and side hustles going on right now flipping comics and houses. 2 years ago I actually made pretty close reselling comic book collections to what I did reselling houses.

I really want a 60s Mustang or one of those muscle cars but just the body want to the rest of it to be a modern car. Was thinking of restoring one. I did it back in high school with one of my uncles that restored a 1950s pick up truck. Just the bodies in the east coast of the US are insanely expensive. I hear if you go to Mexico they are dirt cheap. Just a crazy drive back to my house. Just wouldn't be worth it and Mexico isn't exactly safe

Always buy, don't get stuck in endless leases. I've never leased or financed a car as it never really made sense.

If I had to lease a car it'd be a Tesla as by the time the lease is up the next electric car (should) have substantial upgrades.
