Considering all of the negativity in the Transfers section of the forum, I thought I'd post this here (I wasn't sure where else to put it tbh).

This must be a close-knit group of players. Not only did the players who were reportedly put up for sale not want to leave... A player who had left, pushed to return to the club.

Kudos to all of the people at the club who aren't talked about, who make the place tick.

I was thinking about this today. The only player in recent memory we sold that wasn’t essentially forced out was Lukaku. He then promptly forced his way back in the most dramatic of fashions.

Anyone notice that Riccardo Ferri has joined the first team staff as First Team Club Manager?

Does anyone know if this is the role Oriali had under Conte?

Some random historic stuff.

Inter had signed Franz Beckenbauer but the move never happened. The FIGC blocked the transfer by pretty much deciding that no more transfers from abroad would be allowed in that transfer period. This was in 1968.

A bit earlier, Eusebio had a verbal agreement with Angelo Moratti, proclaiming that if he was to leave Benfica, he'd only do it for Inter. He never really left while Moratti was still around.
Eusebio was pretty much on vacation in Venice and the directior took him to Milano to meet Moratti!

The most infamous was with Pele.
Inter had sent the money to Santos, had all the documents signed with Pele. Angelo Moratti decided against it because he was facing strikes by his workers who wanted higher salaries.

Signing Pele would have been great for Inter but had for Moratti's business who stepped down from Inter altogether a couple of years after, following the general transfer ban from abroad.

Wasn't the first time Moratti had tried to sign Pele.
