Nas got the grammy he was should've got for Illmatic, but the Grammy board doesn't care about hiphop, so..

Im not sure why any Hip-Hop artist would care about them TBH, maybe they give artists better exposure and maybe better deals and money but in general Grammys are just a popularity contest.

Better opportunities, but Nas is probably the only one that doesn't need a Grammy on that list haha

Thats fire actually, i like Pose cuts with straight up raps over a dope beat with no hook.

About X, unfortunately some people are able to substitute their addictions with more positive endeavors and others try but end up right where they were years ago, hopefully he pulls through.

Unless you went through the kind of adversity X endured (abandonment by his parents, living in group homes, physical/mental abuse, homelessness, prison, etc) you're really in no place to judge and be disrespectful, so just keep it positive and respectful and wish X man well.

Dude, I love Dark Man X. I can also understand using drugs to get through something, been there, done that.

BUT! He's been trying off himself with all these substance abuse for DECADES and for a lot of things, it's his own fault how things transpired - how am I not to judge that? No matter how much help he got, he is caught in the same cycle because he believes this is the only way.
I will celebrate his music work, but if he dies, I won't mourn his death. There is no other celebrity alive right now that is living on the edge for so long than him. It's been looking for years like he wants to go.

I've never had to deal with abandonment issues as a yut or had my weed laced with with crack so I can't speak on X actions with certainty BUT it is commonly accepted that crack is the most addictive drug and the mind can be a dark place. It's your choice to not mourn X, in any case lets keep it positive and respectful and hope he pulls through.

Meanwhile I got his first 5 albums + the Belly soundtrack on rotation this weekend.

He was looking in good spirits here too, new album, new projects, fiancee and kid, etc smh

A lot of people have their opinions on addictions and comment how they feel if someone passed, in this instance X, i would just rather hope the person pulls through.

I know for a fact if i was addicted to cigs or drugs i would be dead, i had my issues with food and at one point i was 300 pounds and even though i have been 170-180 since like 2016 its always on ur mind so i cant imagine what someone like X has gone though.

Music industry isnt the best environment for an addict, someone like Eminem for example was lucky enough to be locked in his house and focus on other positive addictions like running and making music. When i saw X on Drink Champs recently i didnt like the thought of him being on there.

Regardless he made his mark in music, he is prob one of the few people that u can put in a category by himself. First time i listened to X in like 99 i was like 10 and the amount of bangers and great music he has put out is ridiculous, he is one of the main reasons Swizz is where he is today, dude aside from X tracks is an average producer at best.

Grand Champ is one of the albums i had some tracks from on repeat for a long time

X

Salute the dawg, held hiphop/defjam for many years. One of the favorites, one of the realest, brought that real NY raw hood energy to the game, never got to see him live unfortunately. Imma celebrate his greatness with a bottle of henny and listen to his albums front 2 back all weekend RIP Dog Man X the legend

RIP to one of the best ever. You can't have a party if X isn't being played.

Ah shit man. Grew up listening to DMX and still play his bangers all the time. The guy wasn’t in a good place throughout his later years in life so at least he ain’t suffering anymore. RIP.
