Rumored to be following Steven Pienaar from Everton. He would be a free transfer if signed in January, are free transfers exempt from the new non-EU rule??

Any comments?

No more foreigners unless they're class (Schweinsteiger, Hamsik, Pastore etc)

When is this more Italian Inter gonna happen? This is a good time to do some sacrificing and invest some young players since we just won the treble.

Who has claimed inter will become more italian?? Certainly not Moratti or Branca. They have said they will focus more on youth and players coming through the inter system but no where do I recall them saying a more italian inter.

Not sure if it was Moratti, Branca, Mourinho or whoever but I'veread something over the past 2 seasons that we're aiming to make this a more Italian Inter to prepare ourselves for Uefas new rules.

I miss having Inter players like Vieri play for the Azzurri, we need more Italian stars representing.

I read G.Rossi interest somewhere, I wouldn't mind that..

Personally I don't care if player comes from mars as long as he is good enough to play for inter. That's all that matters.

Then we should leave Serie A and play in the Mars League I guess.

Can FIGC follow us to mars?? :D If not it would be a fairer league...

Not going to go further since that would derail the topic.

fifa is really retarded if they try to implement all these rules, why dont they focus on getting video technology so games are played fairly.

The new Italian rule is stupid. So instead of buying South American players your going to buy Portuguese,English,French or Spanish players? The only way to do what they want they should have just made the rule you need a certain amount of your players to be Italian. I don't see how this only 1 none EU bs is going to help the NT at all, as teams will just go for cheaper EU talent then pay an arm and a leg for a decent at best Italian that is going to be over priced because of the rule.

I also see Genoa becoming very very rich because of it

I agree, especially with 75% of South Americans getting EU passports. Basically all it does is cut off people not of European descent.

The FIGC did it for political reasons. They had to appear to be doing something. The rule is ineffective and only hurts the odd few but they couldn't anything else due to eu labour law.

Lets continue this discussion in the serie a thread.

Exactly .... and even then won't effect it that much as long as your South American and White you can just say you have a German,Portuguese, Italian or Spanish grand parent and your fine. Some how Nelson Rivas got an EU passport for having a German grand parent, didn't know there were black people in Germany. Argies and Uruguayans get away with this crap all the time because of their appearance and last names.

Its not going to help until the Calcio does something like you can't have less than 6 Italians and 2 of them can't be Goalies like we pulled. We had 2 40+ year olds just to satisfy the 4 home grown player rule, Matrix who almost never left the bench and then Mario. I agree Inter/ Italian teams need more Italians but a minimum amount would be better than what they are doing now. I know that Udinese has like 5 Chileans, 7 Colombians on their team and like 3 Italians....

what difference does it make?

well, that even in our youth system we haven't that many italians, if the FIFA or UEFA goes crazy, we would be in trouble...

:palm: They can't since EU labour laws protect us and those players.

Maybe you had been brainwashed by juBe and milan fans and their propaganda, since italian players at Inter are your fixation.

Then let me remind you

pointless statement, inter is a serie a team, and even if no rules exist it should prefer the italian national team above any other and support it

Inter is a private company. Its job is to look after its own interests not to be a feeder for the italian national team.

I would also suggest reading up on why Inter was formed in the first place. The club was formed as a place for foreign and italian players while milan only wanted italian players. The club will buy whoever they think is good enough irrespective of nationality. Hence they bought ranocchia because they feel he is the best option, fact is there aren't many italian players available at the right price who are good enough.

I dont see why it is a problem that inter are not "Italian". If you look at the Italy team of the world cup, how many of them were good enough to wear the Inter shirt?

A team should be picked by how good the players are, not by their nationality.

Look at the "invincible" arsenal team of 2004, they had 2 english players on the regular starting team. If they only had 1 player, or even none, it wouldnt make them any less "invincible", or champions of England, regardless of where their players were born, it shouldnt be a problem because it's a club team and not a national team Inter are fielding.

very true. I think a decline for a few years, with the old players leaving, will boost a lot when young talent arrives in a few years, the next generation. hopefully some of them will be Inter players!
