The idea of Milenkovic was because he had only year remaining of his contract, and he could have been available for like 15.mln, and he would be not so bad replacement of Skriniar, if the latter was sold for 50 mln last summer. Skrinar is leaving for free, and Milenkovic signed a new deal, so that ship sailed.

Well obviously if you're there you play to win, but this was more of an official pre season than a must-win tournament. All it didw as get them in the KO draw of the Uefa Cup.

I think the Conference League being season long is far more prestigious than a preseason tournament that had multiple winners each year.


Even neutrals liked it because it wasn't the same old dull preseason game. Teams played for a Uefa Cup spot and that could lead to a deep run, provided you got a decent draw.
