Would very much like to see him against Verona from the start again. I could only watch the second half, but I liked what I saw from those 25 minutes, very comfortable on the ball.

It will be good to have an option for Candreva, if Lazaro can keep this up. It takes some non-Italy based players many months to adjust to Italian tactics, so I won't judge Lazaro yet. Even Cancelo or Perisic were useless/shite for the first 6 months or so. Lets see how Lazaro does in the 2nd half of the season.

I can't blame Perisic too much for that one, I swear Mancini was playing him at CAM

Having now watched the game in bits and pieces, I liked what I saw. If he can perform like this constantly, then we can focus on reinforcing areas, such as the opposite wing.

Has he played much on the left? Would be good to have someone other than Biraghi (and Dimarco?) to cover for Asamoah.

I'd like to see him paired with barella, gagli just near him like no more than 1m apart not giving him enough room

It was a positive performance against Bologna. Great individually and even good at man marking, but still need improvement to move as as team. We still need more time to evaluate his quality, but his different characteristics with the rest of our wingbacks is already very advantegous. Our wingbacks have heavy preference to cross and the fact that he loves running and beating defenders are very refreshing to watch.

It might be another case of Cancelo here but with less quality involved of course.

That is, people will bash the decision to bring him for the first few months, then after a bad cameo people will be like "he has to play more", then he plays and he's a leaky defensive machine but that will be overlooked since he provides a spark going forward that not many on the team possess and at the end of the day he'll be one of our most overrated players :)

Only difference is that this guy knows he's not a defensive player yet Cancelo wanted to be like Mike(on).

Wtf are you talking about? The first few months Cancelo was injured and people had already considered him to be bad. When he got fit and got the chance he clearly proved himself. The summer came and he went to rube. The next summer came and he went to shitty.

You've become senile. If I were you I would start writing my testament.

And Lazaro was not injured in his first months?

When Cancelo had his first start it would continue all season out. And mind you, having really good attacking quality is still quality. If we would compare with todays Candreva he has neither attacking or defensive quality. He has running quality

I like lazaro better than cancelo. More aggressive, athletic and dynamic. At the moment, I'll take the lesser defensive skills at rwb, as the cover Barella provides would be enough to allow Lazaro to attack aggressively. Lazaro is no defensive slouch either.

Too early to say Lazaro is better imo but I can see the potential there and why we bought him. I think when he’s fully integrated he will bring another dimension to our attack

It's useful to have a more attacking option fullback. I think it's clear Lazaro has the potential to be more dangerous in attack than Candreva.

Can't believe I'm actually excited to see this guy play again. He was brilliant in attack and should have had a penalty for some nice skill, dont know how it wasn't given

He was pretty good. Now that Sensi will be back, does that mean that Lazaro will have Sensi/Barella on his left instead of Gags?

Gagliardini is probably the preferred midfield partner for Lazaro because Gags has a more physical presence and is better defensively. Pairing Candreva with Sensi works because Sensi is more attack-minded, and Candreva has the work rate to cover for Sensi if we get caught out on the counter.

I remember Sensi being used on the left more. I think we’ll pretty much always see him on the left. The left is where our wing play is more conservative and it’s where he can cut in and shoot. I expect our more industrious midfielders to be paired with Candreva and Lazaro.

So for then, in order, he's had:
  • A good 30 minute sub appearance against Slavia
  • A terrible 17 minute cameo against Sassuolo at the end of the game
  • An impressive full game against Bologna which was his first official start for us
  • And another good sub appearance today where he was lightning quick and getting past the Dortmund defence for fun.
I think he definitely deserves to start, seeing as none of our other wingbacks are playing well, aside Asamoah maybe.

For next match it should be Lazaro-Asamoah for the wingbacks.
