Why shouldn't we sign him? Amazing work rate, determination, recovery rate of balls always high. We don't often get such players here.

gargano is like the only player in the world who does what he does:

works really hard, recovers the ball, and then turns over possession immediately in our half

i have a lot of respect for his defensive capabilities, but its like having a striker who scores 1 goal then concedes 1 immediately almost immediately. On average you might come out slightly better, but at the end of the day, you're shooting yourself in the foot. If we replaced him with a less capable DM - who was better at keeping possession in our half - we would be better.

If he could learn how to pass the ball safely like Cambiasso does, he could be more useful. but problem is when we have both Gargano and Cambiasso in midfield, we have to put risk in one of them and give the burden of making a creative play to him, or sometimes cambiasso, and since both can hardly pull creativity from time to time, so we end up cursing them when they naturally lose the ball.

Kovacic should be our creative force in midfield, putting him in the back is stupid, to me at least. It`s as stupid as playing Messi behind Besquets and Mascherano in midfeild.

I doubt will get a CL place, unless changes happen fast, as for gargano hell no don't want him at inter use the money to buy some other player.

Kept getting dragged out of position in the first half due to Strama's mistake in using Alvarez, who wasn't tightly marking anyone in Juve's midfield. So even his usual defensive display was not up to scratch, as Juve's midfield kept outnumbering us when in possession.

And when he was in possession, he was horrendous in holding onto the ball.

I'd prefer us to look for an alternative DM who has more technical skills on the ball.

The problem is that our midfielders are too spread out to do anything. It happens to Kovacic, that's why he always has to dribble his way out of trouble just so he could lay off a simple pass. In Gargano's case, he can't do that, his technical weakness gets highlighted, and he's made out to be the world's worst player. In a more organized midfield, he can be a huge contributor.

I don't want him to be a permanent starter next season, but he's a valuable asset to have in the right system, if we get him for the right price, I'd be all for it.

This. Gargano was a beast in Napoli. Suddenly he came to Inter and forgot how to play?

Mazzarri made him one of the best DM in Italy, Strama is making him look like a biggest flop ever.

HE IS NOT USED RIGHT! Especially since i saw the game live. How can you expect both Gargano and Kova to function properly in 3-4-3? I remember situation from yesterday,wasnt show on tv i guess, he got the ball on the left, passed it to pereira, and he moved in the middle. And then, Kova went upfront, and Gargano tried to cover him, leaving space on the left. The ball went on the right to Zanetti, so Gargano moved even more on the right to cover. Then, Zanetti instead of going in the middle, passed the ball to Gargano who had two jube players around him, and what is he supposed to do, dribble, make a trough pass? He is a destroyer, nothing more, nothing less.

But im tired of explaining. He is not the guy to hold onto the ball and pass it. If Strama want's to make Xavi from him, his problem, his mistake, not Garganos. His qualities are not utilized, but his weaknesses are too exposed from his usage from Strama.

edit: i tried to defend Pereira too. But i can't anymore. The guy constantly players in his natural position exploiting his strong sides, and he still constantly fails to deliver. Gargano on the other hand has had some great games for us, and he keeps getting used wrongly. Thus, i will still countinue to defend the guy, shame i am aware i cant do the same for Pereira.
