Yuh, would've been sealed if Robben didn't miss that 1v1 in the WC final. Smh.

Anyway salute

Sneijderman.

Probably the last man who was given nickname by Scarpini.

Thank you for the memories Wes. I still remember how excited i was about him since the first moment we were linked with him. I was ecstatic when we eventually signed him and he ended a much better signing than i could have imagined. He will always be one of my favorite Inter players.

As much as I like Sneijder, he never deserved to win Ballon d'Or 2010.

Hell, Sneijder didn't even got recognized as Inter's POTY back in 2010. It was Milito.

Never mind that Sneijder wasn't picked for Serie A TOTY.

Actually, Sneijder didn't got an MVP during any tournament he played in 2010.

- Serie A POTY: Milito
- UEFA Club footballer of the year: Milito
- UEFA Super Cup MOTM: Reyes
- FIFA CWC Golden Ball: Eto’o
- World Cup Golden Ball: Forlán

From Zonal Marking on Wesley Sneijder - who didn't even make his best XI of World Cup 2010.

Was actually quite underwhelming for most of the competition and his performances have been overrated by many, but deserves a mention for his goal count, even if a couple were rather fortunate.

http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/07/19/world-cup-2010-team-of-the-tournament/

According to Zonal Marking, the best player of that season was Lionel Messi.

It’s boring to say Lionel Messi, but the answer is quite clearly Lionel Messi.

Messi made 47 goals for Barca & carried Argentina to the WC quarterfinals despite havig Maradona as coach.

47 goals was crazy at the time. R9 was the last player who scored 47 goals and he got a Ballon d'Or for it.

Actually, no.

Sneijder should’ve won Ballon d’Or based on the fact that he would have - and this is a fact - had they not changed the voting system that year from what it had always been, to a popularity contest where football players and national team coaches from nations where television sets are uncommon had a say.

Sneijder surely deserved that Ballon. But tbh I still think he could have done better in his career overall, shouldnt have left Inter. I still have no idea why the fuck did we sell him.

Ahhh the memories. He was my favorite NT player for a long time and I went crazy when I found out he was joining Inter.
Then to watch him become a vital part of the team, winning every trophy there is in his first season here... It was glorious. And this season it will all be a decade ago. Jesus christ...

Going downtown to watch UCL final on a big screen in some pub, being one of the few with that Inter Sneijder jersey on, and our niche little group rebelling against the masses of people wearing Bayern Robben jerseys... It is one of the best memories :D.
Not to forget the many nights spent there in piss drunk euphoria after World Cup wins orchestrated by WS10.

If it was up to him he would have retired at Inter.

GG little man, despite not personally knowing each other we've shared both one of the most beautiful and one of the most dreadful moments of our lives together, and you made it all possible little fucker. It was well worth it.

We'll see you when you inevitably return to Appiano Gentile as coach. ;)

I still remember his debut game against Milan like it was yesterday. What a fantastic player he was. Happy retirement legend. :proud:

Also can never forget this;

The one and only conceivable reason he didn't win the Ballon d'Or was perhaps because he missed 12 league games due to injuries. Other then than, there is no excuse. Just a typical UEFAlona jerkfest.

I also remember that comparison between 2010 Sneijder vs 2018 Modric:
- Champions league: Winner vs Winner
- League: Winner vs 3rd
- League Cup: Winner vs Quarter finalist
- Super Cup: Finalist vs Finalist
- World Cup: Finalist + Top Scorer vs Finalist

:yao:

Anyway, poor dude seems to be going off the rails a little bit these days. Has split from his wife and he acknowledged he "messed up several times", he posted some angry response to media speculation about his divorce, and these videos emerging of him drunk in public etc.

Grazie Wes. Great career and great memories. Seems to have hit a bit of a rough patch in his personal life so hopefully he can get back on track.

Maybe he can come back to Inter and teach FK's.
