Why do you support Inter, and how did you choose Inter?

I happen to catch Inter on foxSoccer channel
bigups to fsc...my lifeline. i'm thinking about getting fox soccer plus aswell, because it seems fox is starting to distribute the games over the networks more evenly...inter vs. cesena for instance :(

While "internazionale" was unique for us in pushing for foreign players, today it is the norm for football across the globe. Foreign players and international fans is something every team has. However, in our case it is in essence one of our core values. It's what Inter stands for. We should, more than any other team, not only respect and accept but encourage and seek international fans.

So while every team today is global and international, we were still the pioneers and remain strongly attached to that philosophy, and it's a bit silly for anyone to restrict Inter to Italy or Italians only because that goes exactly against the essence of who we are and why the team was created!

Well said my friend.

I'll be honest though, I don't think I "feel" the losses or wins as much as a lot of you on here. I get maybe a bit bummed when they lose or I'll complain a bit. But since I live in the U.S. it's hard for me to relate in a way that compares to those of you closer to the team. An example would be if the Union ( mls ) lose a match it's like getting kicked in the gut to me since I have season tickets. But if Inter lose and I'm watching on my computer or Fox soccer channel in a 6 hour time difference the impact of the loss is not quite the same. Now i've only been an Inter fan for a few years now so maybe that could change in 10 years if I'm still following the team.Who knows?

Idk about you dude, but I live in the US as well and every time Inter loses, I feel like a piece inside me dies (especially when it's against Bilan, Rube, or Romerda)

The first time I watched a game on TV (my dad was a coach so I was regularly going to see his team in the neighbourghood) was actually the 1994 World Cup in the US because Switzerland was playing in a big tournament since forever (for me, I was 10...). Anyways, I was in the hospital for renal issues that 1994 summer so all I could do was watch TV and the WC. Being Italian and Swiss, I was cheering for both teams. I won't talk long about it because it is still my worst football memory ever but Italy lost in the final because of Baggio missing a penalty kick. Baggio was, is, together with Maradona, my idol. Some years later (1998 I'd say), I was flicking through the channels and spotted my dear Baggio playing. I stopped and watched the game, he was wearing a black and blue shirt...

Well, all there is to say is that: he left the team and I sticked with it :star: My first game in Milan was in 2002, my mom's present for my 18th birthday! Since then, I've been going once or twice a year and since this season, I'm a season ticket holder :) I am watching the games every time I can but I enjoy nothing more than being in the stadium, this is the place where I feel alive.

Ok never posted in this thread before but here's my story.

I actually started supporting Inter since Ronaldo left the club. The fact that I never liked him aside, my reasons for rooting for inter since then had other factors beside Ronaldo's departure. One of them was the large crowd of Argentinians that gathered in the club at the time. At that time I was never really a dedicated fan for any foreginer clubs in the world. The only exception was Barcelona which I liked since the mid 90s. The other teams which I used to support were the ones that had argentinians in them. I was only rooting for argentinians and their clubs till then, cause I am an Argentina fanatic almost my whole life! Lazio was my #1 team in Italia back then.

As for other factors, Cuper who I had great respect for (beside being an argentinian) being the coach of the club, the blue color of the shirt which has always been my fav color (beside black now), the recent scudetto story and that the club dramatically lost it in the last day against Lazio (I was watching the match live from tv), Massimo Moratti who I admired his passion for the club no matter how wrong his policies were at that time... I dunno, something was dragging me in to this club. Those reasons that I mentioned were just some but they couldn't be all I think. Tbh I was looking at this club and reading about them for sometimes and I kinda liked them, but it wasn't to a degree that I could call myself an 'Inter fan' at tha time! When Inter was playing Lazio in the last day I was somehow indifferent if Inter wins the title or not. I wanted them to win it over Juve or Roma but still were more indifferent who will win it since Lazio was out of the race. But I saw Gresko's flop, Ronaldo's tears, Simeone shaking his head after heading the forth goal in Inter's net... it was touchy to watch and could also affect my feelings getting strong about them by the time.

Anyway, since I started supporting Inter I just got stuck to 'em like I've never been before to any other club (not even Barca). Now for years I've been rooting only for Inter and Barcelona, and also Atletico Madrid to a much lesser degree (only when the other two are not there).

I've been a fan for about 3 years. Don't get the wrong impression, I do get pissed when Inter lose. However if the Union, Phillies, or Eagles blow a game I've been known to throw the TV remote or kick an end table or something else childish lol. I guess it is because I grew up in Philadelphia area.
The more I watch Inter and read and learn the more I love. I am facinated by the history of the team as well as the entire Serie A. I love reading all of these posts on the forums. Very, very interesting.
cheers

So.. you're one of those who don't meet the cliché that every Inter fan has had to go through suffering and dark periods, but that's ok. You know how it feels like. Have a good time here. =)

Ronaldo brought me to Inter and have been a fan of this club ever since about 14 years now.
I think we can all agree no matter how or who brought us here we all ended up falling in love with this club...and once an interista always an interista.
I'm going to brainwash my kids from the beginning so they grow up loving and supporting inter.

I started support Inter when I still young (6 yo or something like that) and i didnt know anything about football right then..just knew that my big bro and my uncle were a milanistas and Inter haters. But still dont know why I chose inter and didnt choose Bbilan, even though my uncle and bother were very close to me. :D

From 2005 I started know the players and the coach, and in 2007 and i started follow them game by game.

thank God I chose Inter.. :D

Wow an Interista coming of a Milanista family, sounds similar to G.Bergomi's story ;)

My father is a Brazil fan and my uncle an England fan. And I am an Argentina fan. Figure that out! ;)
