some people picking Rannochia :palm:

anyone from Pique, Barzagli, Kompany, Hummels, etc.. Rannocchia isnt even world class. I think Thiago Silva - Chiellini pairing is undisputable (at least when Chielini isnt injured)

- - - Updated - - -

Let me change it once more
------------------Messi-----------
----Ronaldo -- -------------Iniesta-------------
-----------------Xavi----------------------------
--------------De Rossi - Pirlo------------------------
------Marcelo - Chielini - Thiago Silva - Lahm---------------
Casillas

perfect balance of attack and defence

Marcelo - No need to justify one can see how much RM is missing him, Ronaldo especially. Solid Defensively, a monster when going fwd.

Xavi - Still best passer in the world. He hasnt lost form, its just Barcelona are slowly trying to weed him, by asking him to play deeper and deeper. More of a general to organize the rest of the team, than the role he played under Guardiola in 2009-2011

De Rossi - Only player in the world who can be a world class box-to-box AND deep lying playmaker

I would have included De Rossi, but on current form he hasnt been anywhere near his best

Falcao/Messi/CR7 is a must

As i've said, it's debatable about the best 11 at this moment, but how people put Dani Alves is beyond me, he is utter SHIT this year. By far his worse in Barca and one of the worst in his career.

Comedic Post of the Year
Based on their current form in their respective teams and leagues in the current season.

Handanovic
Ranocchia Silva Chielini
Busquets Pirlo
Iniesta Fellaini
Messi
Van Persie Falcao

Manager: Diego Simeone

My personal intake on the best 11 of the world based on the first half of the 2012-2013 season.

Keeper: Samir Handanovic is the bets keeper based on his current performance for Inter. He was able to save the team more than once this season let it be a deflected shot, or a sneaky long shot, or a one on one situation. When I look at names like Valdes & Casillas, I sense their form has dropped when they face a strong challenge. The same thing goes for Buffon & De Gea. While guys like Hart & Neuer have been great for their clubs but their reassurance that their spot on the national team is untouchable has gotten into their heads and it shows with some of their challenges and interventions.

Defense: Ranocchia has been solid for Inter, and the fact that he has proved his doubters wrong this season. Silva recovered from injury that kept him out of the action in the early parts of the season, now on the other hand he has shown his quality as the defense of PSG has improved greatly with him. No one can deny the calm and strong presence of Chielini in the back of Juve's line.

Midfield: I don't like Busquets whatsoever... hell I even helped create the FUCK BUSQUITS outbursts on the Inter Offside. Still, his presence in front of the Barcelona line has been crucial and professional in doing in his job in keeping possession or covering the defense. Pirlo, the maestro.. without him in midfield the tempo of Juve wouldn't be the same as well as their attacks. The reassurance and quality and the free-kicks he brings on the pitch to his teammates helps them out in the most difficult of situation, especially when the team is sleeping now and then. Iniesta, the things I said about Busquets could be applied here on Ineista but when it comes to creating the unexpected for his teammates and against their opponents. Finally there is Fellaini, if you watched any one the Everton games this season, you would know about the things this man has done under the guidance of his manneger David Moyes. From wining the ball from the opponents, to harassing the defenders, to scoring decisive goals, and defending with his team, he has been a solid and versatile workhorse for Everton and definitely deserves a place the formation of the year.

Offense: The trio of Falco, Van Persie, and Messi. The performance and importance these guys have delivered for their teams is undeniable this season. I don't think anyone would disagree on the fact that Falcao has been crucial for Atletico Madrid and Colombia with his goal scoring sense in front of the box. Van Persie has been a great signing for Manchester United with his crucial goals for the team in the Premier League and the Champions League. I can even say that if he wasn't at the club this season, then they would have struggled in many games that required his influence. Messi has improved greatly for Argentina and his performance for Barcelona remain as professional as always. His importance to Barcelona is undeniable as they have struggled whenever he is out of the main formation and whenever he is shut out of the game.

Suarez is great, one of the best there are, but no way he can play as CF over Falcao. He isn't even pure CF, more like SS/winger/wide forward...

Yea, I can understand why. CR7 is not as dangerous as he usually is when his tandem buddy Marcelo is out injured. Not to mention that Falcao and Messi are outscoring him in La Liga at the moment.

its amazing how much ronaldo's game has suffered without marcelo in the side. thats why imo hes the best LB, not just Ronaldo but RM as a whole has been missing him severely

The problem with Ronaldo, as well as the entire cast of Real Madrid is that their current form and performance doesn't reflect their true capabilities. Ronaldo in particular who is quite fundamental for the attack of Real has suffered a lot lately, whether because of Alosno's inconsistent form or Marcelo's absence like ninuk has said. That is also why I didn't pick up any of the United and Real Madrid defense, because of their bad form like the disasters that Ramos keep doing... Which proves my point about him in general when it comes to concentration.

I can't believe a Real Madrid fan once had an argument with me that Ramos is better than Zanetti...
