Yeah, they kept testing him but he did all right, the foul he was " awarded" was a sham imo.

As long as we play a towering defender as a wide CB, he will be torched by a tricky winger. Look at Skriniar and Pavard. Both of them are defensive beasts but they are regularly burnt in 1 vs 1. Thus I will not criticize him if he is beaten by a dribbler because there is a limit for a young defender to play in the life-or-death match.

I disagree about Pavard being beat a lot 1 on 1. Imo he’s the prototype for a RCB. Even if he had a poor game.

Pavard seems to be fairly good one on ones. I think he can struggle in the air at times - not sure if it's a concentration issue or him just not being particularly great in the air.

Bisseck has been good at 1v1 defending whenever I’ve seen him do it.. not sure what I’m missing here. It’s mostly his positioning that needs tweaking. Last night I think he was beat only once and let in a cross from the touchline, but he did decently there too.

I've read (maybe here) that one of the current holdbacks on Buchanan is that his Italian isn't up to snuff. That probably isn't the end of the world in terms of on-field communication between players (I'm sure enough players know enough English to get by), but in terms of everything coming from Inzaghi, it's almost certainly in all in Italian and he doesn't want the players needing on-the-fly translation in the middle of play.

But I agree in general with you, at least if/when the Scudetto is mathematically clinched. Give Buchanan some starts, it won't be a sample size large enough to draw definitive conclusions but we do need to see if we might have something with him or not.
