If it wasnt for Pavard injury we wouldnt see how this dude is good. Unfortunately Buchanan is not that lucky.

This guy has balls. We should see him more in the upcoming games.

The most impressive thing about him is that he doesn't seem fazed by the moment. Even when he makes a mistake, it doesn't affect his game. His yellow card was a joke btw - he made up for his mistake with a great tackle.

Look at Skriniar and Pavard. Both of them are defensive beasts but they are regularly burnt in 1 vs 1.
Skriniar isn't a defensive beast. P$G's defense got better when he got hurt this year. Just like ours got better when he got hurt last year. When we made it deep in the Europa with Conte, Skriniar was on the bench.

Those are fair comments. However I think Skriniar was just played in a position that didn’t suit him. I’d still rather have kept him as the center back in the middle of the 3 instead of De Vrij.

Sometimes I want to just shit on Skriniar, so that universe will come out and say Skriniar did nothing wrong, like some machines you insert a coin and a mad bot pops out screaming something crazy lol

Only good tging to come out of yesterdays game is that this dude proved that his reliable in big games
Not trying to knock on his success, but young, fresh legs against tired players also helped. If he started the game he might not have played as good.

Skriniar was very good in Spalletti system, and quite over hyped by Inter fans otherwise. I don't watch PSG matches very often, but from what I've seen, he is not world class as everyone here thought. Marotta was absolutely right to sell him for 50+ mln, but unfortunately it didn't go his way.

yeapm,Skriniar is fine in a 2 CB defense... He did get better in a 3 man defense, in that second Conte season, but never to the point that he's great... All of Bisseck, Pavard and Darmian are better for the system, as they can actually pass the ball. Skriniar used to pass rockets and I never felt comfortable with him going forward.

He never worked well in a 3 man defence never looked comfortable in it, also his technical ability or lack thereof would be incredible problematic for a coach like Inzaghi who wants and rely on playing defenders. Our defenders all goes forward, overlap and function in the attacking movement would never work with an old fashioned defender like Skriniar

For the most part he did ok, was in a lot of different positions today with mostly playing the central defender it appeared in the 2nd half. May be asking a little much from him since he hasn't played much lately, oh well baptism by fire...l

He has a blame for the second goal imo. Lapadula pushed him very easily away, and he didn't even try to recover his position and chase the ball.

He is just not a very good defender YET. He’s very impressive attacking and physical wise imo. A couple of Serie A seasons will do wonders. But his future is at the rcb role.

All in all a very impressive debut season given he’s coming from a farmers league.

He needs someone like Acerbi on the side or some def commander next to him.
Quite obvious an open minded, learn fast, but a bit lack of grinding and focus, like the mind set of not letting the opponent get away easy, he works on that, a hell of a crazy defender.

To bad we need to start rejuvenating our defence now, because let’s be honest Darmian and Acerbi have both now reached an age where their time is at an end. Both are at an age where we at best might get one decent season more out of them, but there is as big a chance they might turn to be Arna level next season.

So having someone he can lean on means we need to find one on bosman and that is a mixed experience, some of ours done well others well not so much.
