I truly believe that Inter's best formation is 4-2-1-3. It's not because that was the formation that win us the Treble, but that formation fits our culture perfectly.

I've watched this club for a decade and not even in our Treble season did we play flowing football. The midfield is quickly by-passed and the aim of the game is to get the ball as quickly to Sneijder and then watch him quarterback the offense. The other 2 midfielders' main task should be to care about the defense first, offense later. (Depending on the opposition we face)

The 4-2-1-3 is perfect for such a chasm between offense and defense because it gives Sneijder more options to spread the play. Instead of just 2 strikers in a central area, which is more closely marked, he can pass it to the flanks too. Sure, it may leave him isolated without a midfield partner to play around with but I believe Sneijder is capable enough to handle that. His vision, twist & turn gave him space and time to pick up the right option. And hopefully when Poli matures further, he can help Sneijder up a bit.

Another factor is because I rate Coutinho highly. He wasn't given enough chances with Inter but everytime he played, my gut feeling tells me that this guy will be good. Maybe not a world beater but he's someone who should be given time to shine. In a flat 4-4-2 or a diamond, he & Sneijder won't fit in the team. Cou is also too raw and young to be used as an AM in the middle. The learning curve may be to steep for him and thus, we should let him be our 'Ronaldinho.'

I previously believe that the coach have to adapt his formation to his players but lately, I've changed and believe that both the players & coach have to adapt to the club's culture. And our culture has been, and will always be, pass the ball to a certain player and hope for the best. This imbalance is not harmful, it does not prevent us from winning, but we just have to get the right players for it.

Every modern coach plays 4-2-3-1, as you described, the AM has leading role and options in the attack, and so as the other stikers/wingers.

It will be good for us, but considering we buy at least one winger, for me, preferably Lavezzi. Him, with Ricky and COutinho rotating on the other side, as well as Forlan able to cover it, we'll be fine. We might need one more back up winger though. ATM, the only way to implement it, is when Ricky gets back, and he and FOrlan on the wings. Both suck as pure wingers, but 4-2-3-1 doesn't necessarily use ones, but it's more like wide forwards that rotate and cut in. Forlan and Ricky could do that.

So, i agree with you, but that's from next season when we actually have coach that uses 4-2-3-1, or 4-3-3 with advanced CM (like barca mainly). As for now, i think 4-3-1-2 suits us the best, since we lack wingers, especially with Cou being loaned out, and Ricky being injured.

Why is everyone nutting on Rossi. Kid has been injured over a year. We have no idea how he will recover from it and we need a striker who will get us 20+ goals. We don't even know if he will play. For the 20-25 million euro he will cost I say get a player who isn't currently injured and can do this. Right now to me he seems like Rano part 2. We are going to over spend for a injured italian player who after 2 seasons will not start for us.

People need to remember we can't buy players just because they are italian or they are under 20 and scored 2 goals in Brazil or Argentina

and i think oscar is our alternative to lucas. but i think leo damio and either of those 2 would be the overhaul of attack we need, especially with the incoming coutinho. and isnt there something with us and paul dybala, i keep reading about him but the translations of google are leaving me lost. anyways thats is too many non eu players unless paul has his passport..

Pazzo may be worth that for us, but there's no way a club will offer 20m for him, unfortunately. We should keep Pazzo, and make sure he has a decent supply towards him. I'd take Oscar and Lucas in a sec. I'm not sure about Damiao, I know he has a lot of potential. But I feel we need Oscar/Lucas more.

Defenders: Sell Maic (10 mil…hopefully), Lucio (3? mil), get Chivu & Cordoba the fuck out and. Buy a proven defender, someone like Benatia (12 mil), get Vertonghen for free and have him as a backup. Use Faraoni/Jonathan as RB and JZ as a LB, Naga, Jonathan, Juan as a backups. Ideally I'd get a new SB, but we don't have the money.

Lavezzi is just a dream as well, doubt they would even want Pandev tbh. We could try for Lucas instead, 20-22 mil, sell Pandev to some random team for 6 mil. (random numbers, just what I think they're worth)

Dzeko wants out and he isn't getting minutes in City, dude doesn't fit their style of play and he lacks confidence. I really think he could do well in Serie A. Can't see us getting him, but it is possible, although, like I said, highly unlikely.

Vertonghen already wants the EPL. Real will want at least 15 for Sahin. M'Vila will have so many suitors, you're looking at minimum 25...especially if it's true Real will be involved. Benatia looks good, but Udinese always screw us. Maybe 15...

Other than that, I like! But i'm with Han, we should play 4213

Napoli will have no reason to sell Lavezzi if they go far in the UCL + grab the 3rd spot.

Dzeko will be for sale, but Man C doesn't need the cash, so will hold out for the price they want (ala Tevez situation), which I'm guessing would be over 20

You're right, those figures aren't realistic, it was just what I think they're worth tbh. M'vila was just some random idea, it'll never happen.

Not sure if Real would want that much for Sahin, though. I mean, he hasn't gotten any minutes. They sold Sneijder to us for 15, and that was a player who used to start for them, and a player that the coach wanted to keep. Who knows, we could get him for lower than 15. Even if he is 15 he's worth getting tbh.
