He did some good things during the game, but also some bad things, but if you collect in overall that doesn't offer enough for our team. He tries really hard, and I really appreciate his efforts, but he simply cannot make it in the long shot, the guy lacks quality and sadly the quality it's very difficult to improve or impossible in some ways.

We are fine on CBs. We have like 4 who are all good in their own way, they just need good tactics. We have Jonathan who for me is our RB, we need a DM that is true. Unless someone can turn Mariga into a good player ( which is not impossible ), we just need a good staff, but we need a world class LB.

Fine on CB? Rano, Rolando, Campa should be fucking back up players.

Naga is a great wingback and perfectly fits Mazzarri's system. Anyone who thinks otherwise clearly isn't watching us play

Of course if we were ever to switch to four at the back he should probably be sold immediately.

Nahh they are great defenders, just not organized, and don't have "acticve" DM in front of them.

Thanks for spelling out the obvious.

Not many people here understand the work of defenders, you are obviously not one of them.

First of all, he is not a 'great' wingback.

Because he's too predictable when going forward, he lacks dribbling skills, then makes too many mistakes, ect ect. For example in our first goal conceded he made an amateurish mistake. He needs to clear the ball outside the box, not in the middle which was a fantastic assist for Higuain. The same story always about Naga, he's just not good enough and lacks quality obviously.

He would've been a bench player in most of those teams with huge name.

I'm not a Naga supporter by any means, but the dude bombs forward and makes runs all day. He is often our only attacking outlet. I don't think that he's special technically, or physically, or mentally, but works in our system, which I hate, but he's literally one of our most important players. Which can be shown by what we were like when he wasn't playing

The amount of goals we've scored this season on the back of Nagatomo making off the ball runs would be in the double figures. And that's why he's a great player when playing 'within' Mazzarri system. Do I think he's a great all-round player - no, but can I think of many wingbacks who would be more effective in Mazzarri's tactics - no.

My thoughts on Nagatomo exactly.

Got to give credit when it's due.

He had a great attacking game by all standards, and it's clear as day he's far more suited as a WB than a FB.

But this changes absolutely nothing about my opinion. He's a wonderful player to have in the squad, but is he one of the best fullbacks in the world?

Absolutely not.

And while his strengths are conducive to Mazzarri's tactics, my issue is that he mostly delivers against weaker sides, but more importantly that his strengths aren't extremely strong.

Sure we're just debating. And this is why I said that I appreciate his efforts, but in you collect in all, the guy is not good enough because of various reasons which I mentioned above. Like I said earlier, the guy is such a lovable player but damn I don't see him as a starter if we become a fantastic team once again, a team who wins scudetti, and other trophies though

He can make runs all night if we doesn't perform at high level for a long time. Once again.. he does some good things, but then makes some bad things all of sudden.

I honestly don't hate him, but I would prefer someone else instead of him. He would've been fine as a bench player though, would bring dynamism and freshness in our game when it would've been neccessary.

Naga gets critisiced?

I'm only posting my opinion you know... and besides, if we all had the same opinion this place would've been useless. Stick that facepalm to yourself.

No one said that he is the best wing back in the world...But he is one of the best in Italy that is for sure...Alongside Asamoah or Armero...And to be honest I don`t see any player who would bring much more to this squad...except those mentioned above...

Tbh I think you're forgetting De Sciglio and Zuniga (although the former would undoubtedly be worse than Nagatomo as a WB).

Whether or not Nagatomo is in form atm has no bearing on evaluating if he's one of the best wingbacks in the world.

As if Inter had any player who could be a stater at a huger team...

Well Handanovic and Palacio surely would been starters.

Name a huge name player who they want to replace by Inter players. Palacio is great, but even he would struggle hard.

I may or not give Handanovic, since Barca seem to need a GK though.

This tbh! Naga made that one mistake today. Mistake that wouldn't have mattered if we had defenders who do their job.

I agree he only made one mistake and was good otherwise, but that goal is 100% Naga's. You can't clear down the middle and there is no way our defenders should account for that type of thing.
