Nagatomo did a decent job today over there on the right flank. He always plays with heart and there were no major fuck ups. He could have done better on the second goal perhaps, but we were pushing and we left ourselves exposed. I'm fine with that. Whats the difference between a 1-0 loss and 2-0 loss at the end of the day?
However, I think today and the especially the Roma game showed why we will miss Maicon. Nagatomo just doesn't have the same presence and ability to dominate the right flank like Maicon does. If we want to have Sneijder, Periera, and Cassano all combining on the left flank thats fine. But we need an outlet once we build up pressure and overload that side. Maicon was able to create a mismatch and bring something extra.
