10 years of FIFI just don't like it. It's awful if D'Ambrosio is Skriniar's backup yet again. Goes to show we are in a financial ruin. Or is this just some insurance plan and we try to go for better CB from the free agency and if we find a proper match, D'Ambrosio gets to choose a new club for himself, we just terminate the contract.

It's totally opposite for me. Ranocchia played quite securely whenever he was called upon past season. While D'Ambrosio was IMO close to a catastrophe defensively whenever he was called upon. He's simply too slow these days for that role.

Most Humorous MemberExactly this. Ranocchia has passed the eye test whenever he's filled in for de Vrij. D'Ambrosio on the other hand has been atrocious with the exception of his goals.
I don't know if it's age, injuries or COVID but his already-modest stock has plummeted in my eyes following last season.

Forum SupporterHeard that his agent is not happy with terms of the contract so he may still leave. Granted he's been one of my favorite players, but given his sub-par performaces, he should be happy that he was even given a contract. Either take the offer on the table or adios.
