@Materazzi_23 Dalot is actually a good shout, I didn't mind him at Milan last year. He seems to be set to stay at United this year though, Wan Bissaka clearly not good enough.

Yeah. Dalot is set to stay at Man Utd and that's why Milan are turning to Florenzi. But even Flo is complicated for Milan as Roma are asking for obligation. Odriozola could have been another option but Real are only willing to accept a sale.

We are in a situation where we couldn't even afford Lazzari and Molina. Perhaps Montiel of River Plate, who is going to Sevilla for 10m, could be an option but i believe he would be a bigger gamble than Dumfries.

So we're going back to the initial argument. There aren't much better options than Dumfries at a similar price.

I keep hearing criticisms about Dumfries from you and Reco. You have watched Dumfries a lot more than the rest of us so i respect your opinion. But i don't hear any suggestions about another player we should have got for a similar price. Out of all the other players we were linked with, imo Dumfries was the best option. Perhaps he will end up being the new Santiago Arias. A good player for Eredivisie but not good enough for a top league. But i certainly prefer taking a risk with him than:

  • 30-year old injury prone Florenzi
  • Bellerin who has been shit after his injury and he has been benched by Cedric, our Cedric
  • Nandez who was valued at 25m and he has only played as a rwb for 6-months
That being said, i would feel better if we also manage to sign Nandez on loan with OPTION so we can have him as a backup plan in case Dumfries doesn't work

100% agreed, still hoping for Nandes TBFH. Mostly because he can play in midfield as well and I`m sure he would be valuable addition to our squad.

Now let`s get rid of Lazaro!

Another fun fact: I've never been to a nicer beach than in Aruba.

For the price, it’s not bad at all. His physicality will be beneficial. Seems to be a good header of the ball too. He has his countryman De Vrij to help him adjust to Italian football. I dunno I’m cautiously optimistic about him for whatever reason.

Worst comes to worst, it’s not a lot of money and IMO better than having Florenzi or Bellerin. Both of whom are on big wages and injury prone.
