The old times of getting good deals with Serie A clubs is gone. You need to be ready to walk away because the demands are absolutely insane if the player has shown even something.

Atalanta. If you think you can sign Hoijlund for 40M€ you can forget about it. This player will break Atalanta's transfer record. On top of my head I'll predict they'll sell him for 75M€ ( because he's new Haaland)

The list goes on and on. We need to upgrade our scouts. We could be finding these younger talents on cheap prices like we did with Dumfries ( which we hope to sell for 30M€ profits) . Its too late going for Atalanta's Hoijlund now. EPL's outrageous offers will ruin the market for bigger clubs chasing same targets, like us and Meelan and Rube. Our only option is free transfers.

I imagine we’d throw in a player or two to lower the fee knowing how Marotta and Ausilio operate. His contract is up in 2024 so the price wouldn’t be too high.

The Inter scouting team needs to move their lazy ass out of Italy and work for what you are being paid. Stop lurking around domestic stadiums for lower-tier players from lower-tier clubs. Stop scrolling your FM saves and filtering out some random stats aka Dalberts Lazaros. Please watch players live before submitting your shortlist to the board, if any.

Surely we are broke but we could still afford the flight tickets, couldn't we?

I am tired of the same shit every Mercatos, Inter collect random trash all around and still robbed by other SA teams... because they do their homework and we don't. Simple as that.

It’s a shame Schuurs has an 50 million pricetag already. Really good defender. Didn’t succeed at Ajax because he isn’t at his best with the ball on his feet and a lot of space behind him. A Botman copycat. Can’t afford him anymore tho.

Lol we're blaming scouts now...

You realize we have one of the top 3 scouting networks in the world? We have folders on over 300 players and the management ignores most of that because they either don't know the player or even worse, the agent... Sometimes they accept 3rd party opinions if it's from Zanetti or the coach.

The only reason Udinese are praised for is actually signing some of these guys, but it's not like they're on our radar.

Ausilio gets a hard on for 20+ players that most of us ever heard of but he cannot bring any of them. At least this wasn't the case when he brought us Lautaro and Brozovic... Or Karamoh, whom we preferred him over Tchouameni, yet Ausilio was adamant on getting both.
Someone obviously was doing the scouting and someone was doing the evaluation. Last I checked, most of these guys are still around.

Scouting's #1 priority in the job description isn't to populate the academy, it's to find players for the first team.

They are doing that. We're just not following most of the advice.

And our academies are top notch. Integrating academy players isn't a scouting issue.

I think we rank 1st in youth graduates in Serie A and we've always been around the top, even when ~10 years ago Juventus was signing every Italian player under 19.

I think a good scouting systems finds talents know one ever heard about or players who fit a clubs style perfectly. Brozovic is an example of good scouting indeed. Lautaro not so mutch. He was well known as a big talent and he cost and we benefit from Milito. Bastoni would be a good example as well allthough he did cost us 38 (?) million.

A good scouting system (such as Benfica, Ajax, Udinese etc) find gems before other clubs do so you have not pay grand prize for them. We nearly don’t do that. That being said we also don’t offer very good circumstances too develop such players…

Wolfsburg are ready to compete for the signature of Stuttgart defender with the likes of Inter and Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old would likely cost around €15 million, and that the player is keen to leave his current club.

He's good enough for Fiorentina and maybe Lazio, but he'll need to improve a lot if he's going to be an Inter player.

On the scouting thing, you're confusing the terms.

Scouting is about finding and reporting.
Finalizing transfers isn't the job of scouting. You're making it sound as if the management is stuck with options because our scouts are doing a shitty job. Not the case.

We have some of the top Italian talents at our ranks, we have nurtured some of the best domestic talent regardless of nationality over the last years, we imported top talents beating some very wealthy clubs.

We suck at:
- Integrating talent to the first team
- Signing talented players for the first team
- Keeping top youth talent at the club, because we don't provide opportunities in the first team and typically send them on bad loan deals that hinders development (scrub Serie B teams, midtable Lega Pro teams or non-competitive mid-tier league teams)

Scouting, nurturing and/or signing are completely separate things. It doesn't take much to realize the responsibilities of each department.

He has some interesting traits but he has lapses of concentration sometimes and he can get caught out of position. At the moment he isn't good enough to be a starter. But he's still young and can improve. If Stuttgart gets relegated (very likely) and he's available at around 10m he's worth taking a shot. Else not worth it.

According to Pedulla, till today there's nothing with Smalling and Soyuncu, who has already agreed to join Atletico.

Personally i believe we will only move for Smalling if De Vrij decides against signing an extension.
