Anyone seen Pan's Labyrinth? Top-notch movie. If you aren't an idiot and can follow subtitles (or understand Spanish) you'll probably like it.

aaaah...you seem to be a decent guy after all.

I also liked the movie a lot...but then again I have a soft spot for everything that deals with Spanish Civil War and such...but it was great...I actually don't like fantasy movies and such, but this one got me.

He isn't, he gets up at 4 am everyday to peep at his neighbour showering and he drinks from nonbiodegradable containers.

So did you read 'For Whom the Bell Tolls'? I did that book for my grade 13 English project and I have to say it changed my life, lol. I used to have such a tough time writing in English and critically assessing novels, but that book helped me alot.

I always wanted to see a movie based on it, and there are few. If you see any of them, which one is the most decent one?

In other news, I can't believe De Niro and Scorsese are doing a film together again and a mobster one to boot! I haven't been this excited since I got my first erection.

It's from Hemingway, no?? I haven't read that somehow...I don't know why, but I missed out on it. I think there's only one version of the movie out...with Gary Cooper.

I think it was about Hemingway's writing style that helped you a lot...somehow he manages to give a very detailed view of everything happening in a simple and short way...I guess that was the brilliance about his work.

Yes, it was by him and it was a great book. I read The Old Man and the Sea and it was far worse than For Whom the Bell Tolls, but for some reason it is more known.

Ah, I thought there are other Spanish versions of the movie, but I might check the english one. And if you are into the Spanish civil war, then I think it's a must, because it is told from the point of view of an American volunteer that fought in the war.

the only good thing about transformers other than the visuals, was the blonde bird and her accent.

for people who like french movies and who like parigi...paris, je t'aime is worth a try.

it's a collection of short movies from different directors on paris put together..not all movies are great, but most are.

Ah, I've been tracking this move for a while and I finally found a theatre playing it and it was worth the hassle. Such a refreshing movie that you don't get bored of, it's like watching the best part of 14 movies.

yeah although some of the films were not THAT great, but overall it was brilliant. Although the one with the muslim girl had a "nice message", as a movie it was just kitsch and not really good.

What I liked most was that from the directors you knew, you could really see their filmmaking style in the movie.

The one of Coen Brothers, with Steve Buscemi was pure genius..

Yes, that one with the Algerian girl was well-done and it didn't have a linear or typical storyline, but it was more spontaneous and realistic. I didn't know that, but apparently she is somewhat of a star in France, will keep an eye on her.

Yeah, the Buscemi one was great, lol, funny but a bit dark. As for the directors, unfortunately I don't pay much attention to them, but I can see the different styles and it would have been nice to differentiate and recognize each one.

But my favourite one was the one with the blind guy and Natalie Portman, she is my favourite Israeli person:

Check out Freedom writers if you wanna see a good film. Excellent fiilm from start to finish and it never gets boring. It's a little cliché but not to the point where it bothered me.
