It's not about Inter bidding enough. It's about Hamsik wanting to leave. If he will want to leave, we have as good chances as any.
And it's not like we're competing with Napoli over CL place. We're level above any other italian team. Inter with Hamsik, or without makes no difference.
Hamsik from what I heard is down to earth guy, meaning he is not chasing after money like crazy. That means, it won't be much of a question of money, but more like where he will like to go, and he already said in the beginning of the season that he would like to end up at Inter some day or something like that.
Inter also became a very strong and nice destination for serie a players. For foreign players it might not work, but sometimes players do not like to switch countries, and if Hamsik will preffer to stay in Italy, which is not a science fiction scenario, we'll be his primary destination.
So I fail to see how we have small chances of getting him, because to me, if he was available we would be favourites to land him.
