Luiz Gustavo would be an awesome pickup for the DM position. To me, he is a better player than Fernando mainly because of his experience in the Bundesliga and UCL with a top team. He is a decent passer and has played multiple positions (CB,LB,DM,CM). Bayern paid quite a bit for him if I remember correctly...something like 15-20m.

From what I remember, he hasn't played this semester due to injury, he's fast and skillful but he doesn't have much end product and runs into defenders too much. He needs development so not sure if coming here now would be a good idea.

Either one would do wonders for our midfield. Gustavo has to be 1st choice because he's been in a side that's been to two (now 3 but he isn't a starter) CL finals. Both are the same age but Gustavo's experience gives him the edge. I like Fernando though as well, and odds are he will be an easier purchase.

I don't see him as that tactical point of reference to sit in front and organize the defence.
