New name in attack for Inter: Rodrigo

SportMediaset reports today that Inter could go for Benfica’s Brazilian striker Rodrigo during the January window to fill the void in attack. But Inter have to be swift, because Rodrigo, born in 1991, is also pursued by Arsenal and Zenit. Inter would of course have to sell players to finance such a transfer. Nothing new beneath the sun.

From UK: Mazzarri keeps pushing for Osvaldo

English newsportal SportDirectNews reports today surronding Inter’s mercato and claims that Inter-coach Walter Mazzarri still, even though a fat load of refusals from Southampton, still haven’t given up his hopes of Pablo Daniel Osvaldo who Mazzarri believes would be the perfect signing for Inter. A player that Mazzarri hope Inter will take aim at to strengthen the situation in attack.

At this point Osvaldo would feel like a superb signing. It also makes a lot of sense; Southamphton can still walk away with minimal financial damage. They know his value is dropping fast if he doesn't play. Also, they cannot afford to keep £15m player with high salary sitting on the bench. He is '86 born, Vucinic is '83. Some might say that "only three years", but those 3 years are basically the peak years of a striker.

It's not that I'm superduper excited. But if Mazzarri wants his striker, Osvaldo would be one of the better options.

Osvaldo, motherfucking Icardi, and tantrum-throwing Guarin will make for a great dressing room.

Wouldn't Rodrigo cost a decent amount of money (12-15m) ? Perhaps a swap with Guarin ?

As for Osvaldo, he could improve this attack a lot but question is how expensive/worthy would it be in the long run. A loan with option to buy would be great IMO.
At least he's a striker that would fit in different systems, not only Mazzarri's.

Alvarez's done better than I expected, but to compare him and Hamsik is silly. Even considering potential, Hamsik is on a different level than Alvarez.

Don't agree at all. Hamšik easily one of the most overrated players in Serie A. Complete no-show as soon as you try a bit harder to stop him or when he goes against good quality teams.

Alvarez is far more naturally talented than Hamšik.

Technically maybe, but Hamsiks biggest strength is his mentality and finishing. His off the ball movement is one of the best in the world, his finishing superb for a midfielder as well. He is strong, pretty fast for his size, goalscoring machine. That makes him great, great player.

Alvarez might be more talented in his dribbling or his vision, but he often can't make anything of it because his thinking and his movement is too slow. Hamsik is great with his off the ball movement, can usually find the right pass, and is a physical monster. He's a much more complete player.

I partly agree. Especially in decisive CL games he have been quite poor and outside of the game.

I fear that after agreeing terms with Vucinic we will sign him after all :palm: ...knowing Moratti, but hopefully Thohir won't agree to have an OBLIGATION to pay, that would be suicide just like with Silvestre.

Rumours about Vucinic to join Inter on a loan from Sky, as Vucinic expressed his desire to join Inter. It`s natural since Vucinic will get more playing at Inter more than he`d ever get in juBe.

I have. I have watched him on 5-6 occasions. And was mediocre, but not awful by any means. He was played out of position as SS/AM, not a CF, in most games. He was asked to drop back, very deep in Southamptons half. Did you watch him against City? He was CF in that game, and did very well.

He just hasn't settled to England. Him being bad is excellent news for us. We can get a good player for a good price.

Definitely. I'd rather have him than Vucinic or any other CF we are linked to. And is within our price range of course.

Anyone watched Rodrigo ?
Opinions, worthy of 10-15 mils?
Better option than Osvaldo ?
