I think badges should be permanent or historic

or even just the winners of best poster and best footballer poster every year should keep them

Then how would you distinguish between the current and the past award winner(s)? Not that I disagree with you completely (it's far too much work to be best overall poster every year ). Perhaps something other than a badge.

You can label them.

So you hover over it with 'Best Football Poster 2013' or something.

Easiest solution would simply be to put a year date into into each little icon. For example your little cup trophy pic could have 2014 written on it.

So ten years later and you may have 10-12 of those icons showing? That would take too much space. Instead the icon should have its color changed to a less visible one (like grey) and you should only be able to have one of them. A label when having the cursor on it can then tell when it was and how many times.

Thats not a bad idea. Anyway I think it'd be nice to store some of the key historic badges. However we do it I dont mind.

That's rather creative. I'm sure there are more fitting different badges for each trophy, well unless it's Vasiloo's idea, then forget what I just said.
