No for Gonalons. I know, I know, I talked the guy up last season but he was playing like the best DM in the league at the time. Amazing for OL in the first half of the season, definitely their most influential player alongside Lacazette. He had a bit of a drop off midseason and it gradually got worse, he's been really below par this season. His struggles look mental to me because I've seen him in beast mode. Right now, it's almost like he doesn't seem as confident or motivated and his concentration is poor, moving here could push him harder but I don't think we should take that risk. He was given a starting spot and a lot of responsibility at a very young age with no competition/pressure, I don't think he's developed at all since 2013 and if anything based on his performances this year it generally looks like he has regressed. He's always been criticized as passive, many fans think he doesn't have enough ambition for rejecting moves away from the club, I think he's a good example of how not pushing a young talent hard enough can affect development (it's usually the other way around when the young player isn't being given a chance). I like his personality because he's pure class and he's a talented player, but the gamble wouldn't be worth it for us. Most people are calling for him to give up the captaincy.
