CL numbers are bigger than you think. To give you an idea, Roma made an estimated €99m from their semi-final run this year (Prize money = 38m, TV Pool = 44m, Gate = 17m). A lot depends on how the other Italian teams do (TV pool share increases if other Italian teams do badly), but a reasonable estimate for Inter reaching the quarters will be somewhere between €70m to €80m.

But that would require other Italians to do bad, no? Juve went out in the quarters (Napoli didn't even make it out of the groups) so it was unexpectedly easy to Roma to be alone in semis. Now it's 3 competitors for us. I'd say Juve is almost like a probable semi team if one can say from any team.

Though if the market pool thing is forgotten, then I don't know what to estimate. Nevertheless, even quarters is a LONG STRETCH, hugely optimistic scenario. I'd say most probable is 3-4th spot in the groups.

If Milan are really going after Rabiot, maybe we can steal him from them. Similar midfielder to Gags but with better passing skills.

Rabiot cannot coexist with Brozovic, especially with Nainggolan further up. No need for him.

The only big difference is how many Italian clubs reach the KO phase, which is why I gave a range assuming 2-3 teams making the KO phase. But the key point is - if Inter reach the KO phase, we make big money.

It won't be easy - its almost guaranteed that Inter's group is going to be the Group of death.

The more I think about it. The more I’d rather have Milinlovic-Savic at inter than Modric

I don't think Spalletti would have three players over 30 in his midfield (valero, Nainggolan and Modric). So all this Modric talk is just a distraction.

Why would Spalletti care about age of his players if they keep delivering? Age thing is more Ausilio's issue, the long term roster issue.

Well, he worries a lot in case you haven't noticed. With Naingolan injured and Valero injured or not fit or too slow, he would be in trouble. He doesn't want to take this risk at his age.

I still doubt we will get Modric but in case Ausilio proves me wrong, where would you guys prefer him to play? Attacking midfielder with Brozo and Ninja behind him? Or would you swap Ninja and Modric? I might be wrong but those 3 might be a liiitle bit too attacking, there is not a real defensive mid, no Cambiasso type of player.

Brozo is fit for that. It's deffo not too attacking. Bare in midnf Croatia's midfield was consistent of Brozo, Modric and Raktiic. Change Rakitic with Radja you get more defensive trio than the Croatian one.

That's nothing we should worry about.

If we can’t get Modric or SMS I would like us to make a move for someone like N’Zonzi. Gives us more tactical flexibility because he can play a sole DM role. Also takes pressure off Brozo to defend, I know he has an engine but he’s not a very strong tackler.

I really like N Zonzi but he reminds me too much K dog! Not to keen to splash cash on him because of that.

Although i still think that k dog s problem was a mental one and not a skill one.

This is my wishlist for the midfield (ordered by priority):
1) Get rid of Vecino, Valero and JM.
2) Sell Ramires to Lazio and get Milenkovic
3) Getting Rafinha + Barella
4) Getting Modric+ Barella
5) Keep JM and give him an extended contract.

This whole Modric saga is driving me nuts. This kind of reminds me of the Lampard saga when Mourinho arrived. We ended up signing Muntari instead.

Modric will never happen. We'll sign a random boring ass Argie instead. Maybe fucking Paredes or that Mozza burger dude playing for some Argentinian team, just because it's on Icardi's request as he may have realized the rise of the Croatian empire at Inter and wants to bring in some Asado bastards to prevent that from happening.
