There's only one way Alaba is leaving Bayern, and that's if he feels like he's fulfilled all he can there and wants a new challenge. Not the most impossible thing to imagine; he's won eight Bundesliga championships after all. If Bayern win the Champions League, that's two championships there as well, plus several Pokal wins, all of them as a key player, so his status as a Bayern legend is very much secure regardless of whether he were to be a Bayern lifer or not (I guess, since he spent time at Hoffenheim on loan, he can't technically be a "lifer" anyway).

Even then, there will be competition for his service from other teams that can, and probably would, beat our financial strength, either in terms of wages and/or transfer fee. Which, you know, if we can convince Alaba of the project, then maybe there's a chance. But it still seems very slight and one that's going to take some real good salesmanship from all involved parties. I guess if Davies is going to be the LB moving forward at Bayern and Alaba wants to be a LB (or LWB, I suppose) again, then a move away is the only realistic way that's going to happen.

He'll also turn 29 before next season. Not the end of the world, especially for a defensive player, but if you're getting Alaba, you're doing so mostly secure in the knowledge that he won't likely have much resale value when the time comes to move on.

More than a little. It's rumoured Atalanta want 30-35m for Gosens. They rejected a 25m offer from Lyon few months ago. I can't see Gagliardini being valued higher than 15m.

Atalanta is attractive destination for Gags. They probably will play in CL and Gasp loves Gags. I don't see a reason why he shouldn't go there. Btw we can also offer them Vecino.

Didn't Atalanta sign pasalic recently. Do they even need more midfielders... Anyways I don't think we can get rid of gagliardini that easy at all. Our only hope is teams like torino or cagliari stepping in. Deal with gosens is just wishful thinking imo.

given how long we've had him i dont see it being an issue

We've had him for two years, in our books as our player I mean. He signed extension to 2023 at 2018 when we fulfilled the mandatory redemption. So we've amortized 2/5 of his transfer fee with was 20m€ (loan was 2m€ and bonuses 5m€). Not sure how bonuses are amortized, maybe from that year on when a bonus gets activated so depending on those we've amortized 8-10m€ of his value meaning there's 13-15m€ left in our books.

So Gags for 15m€ + 10m€ + 5m€ bonuses about fair. They net a good 25m€ plusvalenza out of the gate from Gosens who was acquired for less than 1m€ years ago.
