Chelsea are good in the market, they get good price even for their shit players, not sure what magic they do.

They sold flop like Morata for around 60 million, price they paid to sign him.

IMO Inter should have gone for Alonso (if you sign LB from if you stick with Conte. Perfect Conte wingback.

So many rumors that Chelsea want to sign new LB, so they will be desperate to offload too.

How can you make a mistake signing Emerson after getting Hakimi? Its not logical at all. Emerson's input is ZERO this year. He's sitting on a big wage and he's happy.

Gosens has been playing all year scoring goals assisting vs Serie A strongest sides and CL knockouts, a stronger, bigger player without ACL injury and he costs less and could be bought with player swap + money.

I hope this is another diversion move by Marotta. Because Emerson is not good enough!

I mean he is better than all of our current lwb, but that's hardly a feat worth mentioning, and when you compare him with hakimi, and his contributions in chelsea than its more than underwhelming. Little reality check for us after getting hakimi, cus i think we are after him mostly cus of his price compared to other lwb we mentioned here.

On a flip side he knows seria a and isnt that old, turns 26 in august, but those stats at chelsea are worrying as fuck.

Hopefully its diversion from marotta but i m not holding my breath.

I have already shared my opinion about Emerson on the forum so I will just repost it.

He looked good in his one season at Roma but he has been pretty average at Chelsea. He's more suited to a back 4 than a back 3 even though his best season at Roma was as a wingback. Better defender than Alonso but worse going forward than the Spaniard. He can be a decent option but nothing more than that. Alonso is a much better option as a wingback but the problem with him he's absolutely horrific in a back 4. I wouldn't go for either of them.

I wasn't very fond of getting Emerson but now we're getting Hakimi I would be in favor of a move for him if the price is right. I don't think it would be wise to have two attacking minded wingbacks and I would prefer a more balanced player like Emerson.

The rumour about Emerson is disappointing when there are better players on the market (Gosens, Kostic, Tagliafico, Telles) but I am ok with him if we get him for 15-20m.

Conte wants an attacking minded RM(Hakimi, Candreva, Moses) and a defensive minded LWB(Young, Biraghi...)
So Emerson fits the bill.

Might be the fact that Conte wants someone who can better defend on the left than Hakimi on the right.

I really like Gosens and hope for him. Unfortunately it might not be a diversion because Marotta spotted the opportunity:

No thats the thing. Conte cannot have the last say of who we sign. If we follow that path he would sign Emerson, Zaza, Matri and freaking Isla for RWB.

We are going on a great route atm, signing new young and established WC talents, but then we go and sign mediocre Emerson for 25M?

A left back with nothing to show for. Sign a leftback/wingback who has statistics to back him . Assists, goals. Not just because he's brazilian/italian knows language with a snappy mustache.

To be fair they have been linked with Emerson for a long time. I won't be surprised if Emerson rumour is a smokescreen from Marotta to avoid competition from Paratici for his real target.
