Not that I want him here at all but why no growth decree?
the evaluations on Alvaro Morata of Atletico Madrid continue, but the Rossoneri will not be able to take advantage of the Growth Decree anyway, because - after the Farewell to Juventus a year ago – the Spaniard did not spend the required two years outside Italy.

This is from DiMarzio, but Lukaku didn't spend 2 years at Chelsea either, so not really sure tbh.

Morata is kind of a forward that never really made it. His highest scoring season is 2016/2017 with 15 league goals. He will be 31 this year, scored 13 league goals last season. He will be valued less than is paid for, will demand a high salary and will have low resale value, which is none at Inter given our record for selling unwanted players these past few years.

He is not for example Dzeko, never was a Dzeko level player, not an experienced leader, not an authority, no ties to the club but a journeyman.

I would rather bet more money on someone else.

I'm not sure. He returned end of June 22, so one financial year outside of Italy, and it's past 1st July so a 2nd financial year out of Italy

Give me Gift Orban. Explosive striker. Hungry. Smaller wages than Morata too, who will be 31 soon and losing physical attributes already.

Maybe 25M€ only.

This is the second year so if he returns now, he is indeed not available for Growth Decree.

IMO that should be the deal breaker here unless he drops his salary a lot. I wouldn't accept 6m salary. We would be giving him probably at least 4 years.

this year he cant be counted as an italian tax resident - its already more than halfway through the year, so it would be 2 financial years non-resident in italy which I think should make him eligible. Same reason why we had to sign Lukaku by a certain date.

Lukaku was out for only 1 year, why would he be eligible then?

Can we somehow sparkle and push a "rumor" on us being interested in Pinamonti and maybe it actually gets to our management...

He was out less than one year, that why he was eligible. Because he was never out. He left in August and came back before July.

So I guess they look them based on calendar.

While Morata has been out for over an year now so there is one year gap. But that's not enough because he needs two-year gap.

Fucking Christ with Morata. The dude has always been a backup level player with above average ability at best. And at 31 it’s an even bigger turn off. Lukaku may be the biggest diva player inter have had in years but he is far superior to Morata when on his game and it isn’t close.

Don't have one.
The only thing positive about morata is that he is consistently mediocre, meaning he will deliver you 10, 13 goals a season but that's it, while some of the other players we are being linked with may end up becoming complete flops close to correa.

But despite all of that, if he comes here, we need thuram to be a complete revelation if we want a chance for a title.

of course he's infront, cause he costs the least. The moment Balogun's price was mentioned it was bye bye.

That Morata salary will be an issue and I would hate to see us giving him even 6m€ net salary and I bet it would be some 4-year deal.

I understand why Inzaghi wants the guy. We've lost two experienced strikers from last season's squad, so he wants someone to replace that void, someone who has basically "seen it all". But I dearly hope we won't end up giving him a massive contract.

actually he was out for 0 years. He left in Aug, and came back before July, so I think it was a "continuation" of his growth decree (which is why we had to sign him before 1st July)

Its based on Italian tax year - which is calendar year. You need to be resident for the majority of the year to be tax resident, so either 1 Jan -> 1 July, or 30th June -> 31st Dec, basically

as far as I can see, Morata should have left Italy on the end of the previous season which is 30th June, and its now past 1st July so it should be 2 full tax years out of Italy (2023, 2022), but who knows. For example it might be week commencing, rather than day of.
