You never know, some might be sold some might just decide to retire. Mkhitaryan is 35 after all, not unusual seeing a player decide to stop around that age. He might decide to take another term, but nothing is certain once you reach that age, some first make such decisions when the summer time hits.

It’s a good being prepared just if something happens

Henrikh is far from stopping, will probably play at top level for more than 2 years.

Doesn't he have the most minutes this season from our midfield? Why would he stop lol. He lives for football which means he can prolong his career by taking care of his body.

From the current squad: Sensi will not be in Inter payroll any more, while Inter have option to extend Klaassen for 1 more year (hope they won't).

Then there is Agoumé who could be redeemed by Sevilla..

Don’t matter how many minutes he had, you’re not inside his head. You don’t just retire because you don’t feel like you can’t perform on the level you used to have, because of fatigue or suffering from reaccuring injuries. Some players stop while they are on top, because they want to spend their life on something else, for example family. There can be countless of reasons why a player decides to put his boots on the shelf even if that player could theoretically continue physically.

Once you reach that age there more than football in your life, he has a 3 year old son for example.

You never know, that’s why you need to be prepared because many things can change once you’re at that age. Not everyone desires to play till their late 30s it’s entirely up to him when and how and we need to be prepared for that, better now than tomorrow.

He recently signed a 2 year contract. He will be here till he is 37. The same with Acerbi. And I think Darmian got extended too.

1 year contract for Darmian.

Acerbi:
Ezoic

He had agreed to sign a deal till the summer of 2026, with the option of extending it till the summer of 2027. Inter would’ve had the option to unilaterally terminate his contract in 2027, which is similar to the deal signed previously by Danilo D’Ambrosio and Mark Arnautovic.

GdS:
Atalanta’s Emil Holm is also in the crosshairs as Denzel Dumfries looks likely to depart.

Brief history:
Inter had also shown an interest in signing Holm during the summer. The Swede had been among the Nerazzurri’s targets to replace Raoul Bellanova.

In the end, Inter went a very different route. They decided to sign veteran former Juventus and Chelsea wingback Juan Cuadrado on a free transfer.

Atalanta had beaten Jubentus last summer for Emil Holm by paying 2.5 million euros for the loan with buy option set at 8.5 million.

Inter were hoping for Atalanta to not activate the buy-out clause, however I see low chances of that happening given that Holm featured in 20 Serie A matches for them.

Would we have used him at all? Would he just be like the Canadian?

RB we are all set. Let Cuadrado go and Dumfries leaves for free in 2026 whatever.

Just because you signed a contract doesn’t not equal you see the end of it… You can terminate the contract prior to its conclusion, no club is forcing a player to play on if they wish to retire.

GdS reitarates that the first target is Spezia’s Emil Holm, currently on loan at Atalanta, who hold a €8.3m buy option on the talented 23-year-old.

The other option is AZ Alkmaar’s Yukinari Sugawara, who has impressed the Nerazzurri directors.

Anyone seen this 23 years old japanese in action?

GdS reports today Amar Dedic of RB Salzburg is a target should Dumfries leave.

Falcao law and everything, but that would be awesome :D

Don't have one.
Dedic would be amazing, just about the only player from our national team I would currently pick

Reminds me of chiesa a bit, same type of will and relentlessness. And they also kinda have the same playing posture aka hunchback style, lol. Great pace as well and solid both in defense and especially attack.

As great as Matteo Darmian has been over the past few years, I think Inter should be proactively moving on from him next season. His role should be more the floating third choice right wing back / right centre half rather than one of the rotational players - like D'Ambrosio was for his last couple of years at the club. While I think this should be the way they should go, I do not think they actually will do this however.

Yes, Darmian should only be used as a player to give some other players a rest. Otherwise he shouldn't start games if Pavard, Dimarco, Carlos Augusto or Bisseck are availlable.

The only problem is that I'm not that much of a Dumfries fan either, so we need to either put Buchanan on RWB and hope for the best or really bring another player. Even tho Darmian scored a few goals, I don't want him at RWB anymore. Love the dude with all my heart, one of my fav players of this era. I want us to be better than this season next season and for that Darmian shouldn't be playing at RWB anymore.

The disrespect to Darmian here is incredible given what kind of 1.5 years we've seen from him.people
People demanding worse players should play ahead of him is crazy.

Similar goes for Mkhitaryan-Zielinski. There is no way Zielinski will start next season until he shows he is trully a better option like Darmian-Pavard this year. And I doubt that will happen next year.
