Hmmm, on Zarate? No actually. Zarate is a ball hog, selfish and has average workrate. His technique and natural talent is waaaay above both Lavezzi and Gomez. But he is fucked up in his head.

On the other hand, Gomez and Lavezzi are fast, with huge workrate players, and lesser natural talent. As i said, younger Lavezzi = Gomez. Their strengths and weaknesses are basically the same.

I'm talking about their playing style, rather than their degree of talent. In terms of selfish-ness and the lack-of vision, Gomez is very similar to Zarate in these aspects, which inherently distinguish his playing style from Lavezzi's.

That's the thing, Gomez is NOT selfish. He is team player, plays for the team, and has high workrate. That doesn't sound like Zarate to me :D

I agree with Pajo. I didnt saw much of Gomez but from what i saw, he's fast and quick player like Lavezzi, and like he said he's a team player, and that's what i like i players like him and Lavezzi.

i said before that i prefer Ramirez or Jovetic, but i won't be sad if we get Gomez. with players like Milito, Sneijder, Cou, Palacio and the others next to him, he can develop fast and be one of the best players in Italy.

I have the feeling that he will eventually end up at INTER.

Sure. He's a bit younger too.

And about 3x more expensive.

true but he is 3 years younger and i would argue his talent is already better then Gomez if we can afford Ramirez he should be first option if we cant lower the price id still be happy with Gomez!

So, Sky says we havent forgotten Gomez, and we havent bought him since we were/are looking for Lucas. THe price though, is around 2 mils higher now. Catania wanted 6 back then, now around 8.

If that's true, we should have just spent the damn 6mil and moved on to looking for a CM instead of wasting all this time on Lucas.

It seems like Inter interested in the high price players while we can buy good players for low price, and in the end we get Mudingay.

Branca, nothing more to say.

Even if it's not true, we shouldn't have wasted time on fucking Lucas.. I've said that since last summer, I've never understood this transfer, 25m for a 19 years old brazilian who doesn't have european experience, talented or not.. Its a risky move and we aren't in a good situation to spend 25m on one player.

I'm getting bored seeing his name in the rumours thread, been a year and we haven't stopped following him :palm:

Still don't get the statement of 'wasting time'

I'm sure we can hold multiple meetings in a day. Secondly, offers are done by email and fax. Third, how long do you think the discussions between Inter and SP can go for? You think they meet 7 days straight, 8 hours a day on the same subject?

Just because we keep the thread alive, doesn't mean we spend 100% resources on it.

The reality probably is, that we aren't doing much at all. If our resources are anywhere, it's probably towards selling certain players.

Okay, maybe we aren't wasting time.. But why the hell are our management following him so deadly, even though SP president has said multiple times they want 25m and above and the player himslef said he want to stay there and bla bla bla but we still keep on wanting him.. That's why imo we have to stop following him that's my point.

I'm bored of seeing his name from the rumours I found in Michael's thread or fcinternews.com and many others, I've barely actually entered Lucas' thread..

Question for you though, how do you know we didn't inquire about Lucas a week or two ago and when we heard the price, we stepped back, just to monitor the situation.

Just because the media reports it daily, does not make it so.

Whether we're scouting his matches, whether we're actively down there negotiating with Sao Paulo / Lucas / Lucas's agent, or whether Branca is simply jerking off to his youtube videos, it's all a waste of time. There have been enough quotes from Stramaccioni, Branca, Moratti, Lucas, Lucas's agent, and Juvefag Juvecunt that it seems pretty likely we've done more than simply make an inquiry and then move on. How much effort we've really put into it, who knows. Though my comment was not really insinuating that targeting Lucas actually leaves us unable to target other players. More so that holding out hope of signing Lucas could be preventing us from signing other players. Not only for technical reasons, but obvious financial ones as well.

But anyway, Gomez is one of the few players we've been linked with who isn't :palm: and whose rumored price isn't:yao:

I'd actually like to see something work out in this case, which is more than I can say for Lucas, Palacio, etc.

TBH I don't understand the need for a starting LW anymore, Coutinho has been bossing in pre-season and I'd be happy to see him play first choice LW. Plus, while Alvarez has a different style of play, he can also fill this position. I was unsure to start with, but now I have more faith in Cou, I'm not interested in Gomez or any other LW.

The most desperate positions right now are WB and CM/DM, maybe also CB. Ideal for me would be Balzaretti + Mino for LB, Sahin on loan and stealing Yanga-Mbiwa from under Bbilan's noses.

Don't forget Vice-Milito...deep lying playmaker should be our priority. + I don't like Gómez at all...average player.

When you're about to play 4-2-3-1 you may need backups. But generally i agree with you CM and WB are definitely a priority.

Ps.Mbiwa is a good CB and Milan won't be the same with that addition.Mexes Mbiwa duo can work fine.Would be great if we'd steal him.
I'd suggest Aly Cissolo for the LB though Balzaretti is fine.

I think Gomez would be absolutely unnecessary. I see no potential in him to ever become long-term starter for us. We should turn our attention to Gaston Ramirez.
