Sanchez probably thought he would be a starter when he arrived here to partner Lukaku upfront. Turned out that Lautaro became Conte's preference instead. Maybe he had kept the dissatisfaction to himself all this time.

Then Conte and Lukaku left. Inzaghi came. Unfortunately for him, we brought in Dzeko who is undoubtedly Lukaku's direct replacement now. Lautaro on the other has cemented his place as an important player during Conte's tenure here. To add more misery to Sanchez, Inzaghi brought his pet in Correa here as well. Sanchez is obviously fourth in the pecking order, behind Dzeko, Lautaro, and Correa. He feels he is a starting material though.

If the report were true (as in, Alexis not happy with the lack of playing time), then he can bugger off. Half the time he's injured and he can't expect to just walk into the starting line up.

Losing him will be a tactical loss cos we'll have no one that could dribble his way through to the box. But financially it makes sense to get rid of players like him who can't be relied on for >50% of the season.

My dream would be for him to terminate his contract by mutual consent, enabling us to sign a proper alternative to Dzeko.

We all know he's not giving up his absurd wages.

I don’t even know who that would realistically be. Just getting rid of his wages wouldn’t be enough for us to sign someone unless it’s on a free.

I'm not one to completely dismiss social media behavior as irrelevant because most footballers communicate like 15 year olds.

On one hand, Alexis is mosdef known for incessantly posting cringy motivational garbage on his social media. All this shit about "being a lion" etc. :yao: On the other hand, there does seem to be growing substance to rumors regarding his exit, or desire to leave.

I think it's extremely telling that he was perfectly willing to leave last January in exchange for Dzeko. That he would be willing to depart a team in the midst of a fierce title challenge in favor for Fonseca's disaster team, fiercely competing for 11th place, shows that for him, it's all about playing. I can respect that, and no doubt he's been a good professional and a valuable asset over the past two years.

That said, I don't know exactly what his fucken expectations are but surely, surely, he needs to realise:
- he's always fucking injured, or coming off an injury, or recovering from an injury
- he's not going to be a guaranteed starter for any big team in Europe right now

While I appreciate his input, I've never been comfortable with his exorbitant salary, nor the fact that we signed him for THREE years on that base considering his age and injury history. I would be very happy to depart from his wages. That said, I worry because I do not remotely trust Suning to provide adequate funding for an acceptable replacement.

On paper, Sanchez's role here has always been a second striker but he's much, much more of a playmaker - and god knows we lack any creative playmaking ability in the squad like @Materazzi_23 lacks sex in his life.

We will never possess the Neymar's and Salah's of the world (obviously.) We are destitute, but also because there's no room for such players in a 352 squad. But if we replace Sanchez, we need someone who can offer similar playmaking skills or at least a bit of flair or pace because I am deeply uncomfortable with losing what scarce creativity we have in this squad full of cavemen.

I like Raspadori, and he seems like the hot name, but he seems like a #9 to me.

Was there some confirming reports he was willing to leave last January to Roma?

Anyway, agree completely that we need to replace his playmaking and creativity. Correa is not that. He's SS but he's mostly a dribbler, he doesn't have vision. Raspadori is indeed another CF and not sure if he fits to Inter who has Lautaro and Dzeko already (both these guys are great).

Don't know how realistic it is but I really like Damsgaard as a player and I think he has great dribbling technique and take a free kick. He's on a very low contract at Sampdoria and with the wages of Sanchez gone maybe we can try and low-ball Sampdoria with Gags and some payments in the future.

I don't see any issue with that. Dzeko is going to be 36 years old next summer and we have no one on the bench even to give him a rest. As for Lautaro, if Suning are still around he will probably be the next big sale next summer. Raspadori is a must for me.

Well if the assumption is that, then of course. But that is not the assumption yet, too many ifs there, starting with the Suning being here next summer.

There are no ifs in Dzeko situation. He's 36. We need to get an CF next summer, whether that's Raspadori or someone else.
My ideal would Vlahovic. Commisso said he refused a contract extension so...

My notion was to your "if Suning is still here" and "Lautaro will probably be our next big sale". There we have a lot of ifs. Your assumption was we need to replace Lautaro.

Dzeko situation is separate, having Raspadori as the starter or sub to Dzeko is just off big time IMO. If we have Lautaro, Dzeko and Correa adding Raspadori there doesn't address the need of creative/playmaking forward and doesn't address the need of a target type forward to rotate with Dzeko.

Unbelievable. I'm def not cut out to be a pro-level manager coz my hands would be around sanchezs scrawny neck on sight.

Smh.
Raspadori is a must for me.
Why?

Ive been an avid serie a fan for a long long while, seen many young superstar players come and go, I recall the 1st time I saw pastore, nainggolan, hamsik, sanchez play and from the jump you could see they belonged at the highest level. I see that now with Vlahovic and Zaniolo. I really don't see it with Raspadori. But I've only seen him a handful of games and hes' still very young. But certain things you can see from the onset. We all remember Cassano's debut goal. What aspects of Raspadori's game make you think he belongs at a club like Inter? He's two-footed, he has leadership, but whatelse? He's not a great dribbler, passer or shooter, freekicks, positioning, speed, all at a good levelbut nothing that makes me think "this is the next Mo Salah". And Inter is a very special place, we have an appalling record developing youngsters. If Raspadori needs a further 4 years of nurturing then he won't make it here.

same vibes here but I guess there's less good players coming out these days and it's more about the fit, as long as you're above a certain threshold. And he'll be above that threshold, but that could be Politano or Candreva level. Useful at times, but not really someone you want to hand a starting slot to.

Honesty, Inzaghi doesn't use him much like Conte. I think because he was behind Correa and Dzeko.
Last season we had Pinamonti, which is now Sanchez position.
Actually in my point of view, he is just not ready to accept 4th striker position, he want 3rd striker position, which is will never he get as long Correa and Dzeko there.

In my opinion, Sanchez was the best subs player last season. Inzaghi doesn't rate him high like Conte.

I've always wanted to see him in a 3-4-3 with Lautaro and Lukaku/Dzeko upfront but i think he just doesn't have the legs for the press to make it work from the start.Sure Conte when chasing games did throw him on with those 2 on the pitch but its not the same.
