Approaching to infinity...

How on Earth does he not get injured in Torino? Was he really cursed in Inter? :p We'll definitely see by the end of the season.

From channel4:

Torino's injury problems deteriorated when Recoba limped off with new muscular setback to make way for Marco Motta.

:wallbang: And his injury problem comes up again...

It was a mistake to put him in the field cuz he just recovered from an injury. I hope it's nothing serious

It was only a matter of time before he got seriously injured. Thankfully he is not at Inter wasting our time. The next step is to get him off our books altogether as Inter are still paying half of his wages during his Torino loan period.

El Chino blasts Adri
Wednesday 28 November, 2007
Torino striker Alvaro Recoba has hit out at former Inter teammate Adriano. “He must sort himself out.”

The Brazilian hitman is in Rio de Janeiro seeking help for depression, but some sources have suggested that L’Imperatore wasn’t given enough support at the San Siro.

Recoba is on loan to Toro after enduring his own troubles at Inter, but he insists that the club have done what they can for Adriano.

“After 10 years at Inter I can say that it’s impossible that the club let him down,” he told Studio Sport.

“I think that they have done everything they can to help him and now it’s down to him to sort himself out.

“If he can turn things around and bring himself out of this he will be L’Imperatore once more.”

As for his own situation, El Chino claims that he is happy in Turin, but he won’t make any decisions on the future.

“Here you can work quietly and I have a good chance of playing,” he declared.

“I’m here until June and then we will have to see. I know that I can return to Inter or I could stay here at Torino.”

Chino's respect means absolutely nothing to me. But I am one to say that you should preach what you teach. Recoba is the last person I'd recommend as an example for Adriano.

Blog: Back To The Future
Alvaro Recoba is set to make an emotional return to the Stadio Meazza when his Torino side takes on Inter. Richard Godden ponders where it all went wrong for El Chino with the Nerazzurri
Having followed Serie A for well over a decade, it’s fair to say that I’ve seen a number of top class players. However, when it comes down to raw talent, there have been few better than Alvaro Recoba. I can still remember his stunning arrival on the Italian scene against Brescia, when he managed to overshadow Ronaldo’s debut with a couple of stunning goals. Yet since then he seems to have been on a bit of a downward spiral.

Despite spending a decade at San Siro, El Chino failed to establish himself as one of the world’s best players. He clearly had the talent, but a combination of injuries and a lack of faith shown in him by the numerous Nerazzurri Coaches during that time meant that it was always a case of what might have been.

The trouble is – as fans of Calcio Italia magazine will learn in the near future when an exclusive interview with the Uruguayan ace is published in our January edition – Recoba doesn’t seem too disappointed with how his career has panned out. Still only 31, he should be at his peak and playing week in, week out, in the Champions League. Instead, he is struggling to get into a lacklustre Torino side.

When I think back to some of the great Recoba moments, it makes me so frustrated that he couldn’t do it on a regular basis. He could have been the perfect partner for any one of the world-class strikers Inter have had at their disposal over the past 10 years, but instead he was more like a cheerleader watching on from the bench or the stands.

As well as that, he has now taken it upon himself to insult Inter boss Roberto Mancini’s achievements on the Stadio Meazza bench, describing the tactician as “lucky.” Maybe he is, Alvaro, but at least he has made the most out of it. And as the saying goes, you make your own luck.

Once reportedly the highest paid player in the world, nobody should have sympathy for El Chino. The Italian Press suggest that he will be on the bench when Toro make the trip to Milan this weekend – how fitting. Alvaro, you could have had everything, but instead you have disappointed your fans time and time again. I hope Massimo Moratti’s money made it all worthwhile…

Hope you dissapoint toro fans now........

Owen and Aimar are far from the type of mercenary that Recoba has been throughout his career. Shame on you for even comparing.
