I didn't say that it was Pioli's fault. I've said that his failure was bound to happen and easily expected (except for those who were delusional at that time and happy for signing an Italian coach).

I actually think that Pioli has over-achieved at his first couple of months. He was practically on mission impossible specially with his mediocre and typical out-dated Italian approach.

Those Italians so outdated and ironically still winning leagues in Germany and England.

Anyway Criscitiello just said that this is a done deal for 60 million and 8 million euro three year contract. This guy apparently called the Gabigol transfer a month before everyone but announced the double signing of James and Pepe before the CL final. For the sake of those who weren't paying attention the latter transfers did not happen.

well me (and some other people) was happy because Pioli was the best option we could get at this time. And still an upgrade too De Boer.

Marcelino was a better option. By just about any measure.

He really wasn't.. Hence why he was hired to be a care taker but was sacked before the season was done.

In Spain - Inter, offer 'very serious' to Di Maria. The Psg thus funds the Mbappé blow

Angel Di Maria returns with force in orbit Inter: The Nerazzurri have already contacted the entourage

By Daniele Mari , @ danmari83 July 12, 2017, 18:56

Angel Di Maria. It's still the Argentine's hottest name in Inter home. According to Don Balon, in fact, the Nerazzurri would have made a "very serious" offer for the PSG winger. This is a particularly important news in Spain because it is damaging to the plans of Real Madrid in the run at Mbappé, the jewel of Monaco. The Psg, in fact, would be prepared to sell Di Maria to finance the Mbappé operation, which would cost a figure far greater than 100 million.

Inter, for his part, wants to make Di Maria his image man and "they already contacted the player's entourage to start the deal," writes Don Balon.

We're not buying him to bench Perisic or Candreva.

Is this conventional wisdom? Seems like an important question that hasn't really been addressed in all of these rumor mill articles.

Buying Di Maria means Perisic is gone, no? IMO, the only way that swap makes sense is if Perisic makes it clear he wants to leave.

In other words, I hope this transfer doesn't happen.

Angel Di Maria's wages too high for Inter

Angel Di Maria appears unlikely to join Inter from Paris Saint-Germain, with director Piero Ausilio not keen to bring in massive earners.

Paris Saint-Germain star Angel Di Maria would not make sense as a signing for Inter because he earns three or four times more than the club's highest-paid players, says sporting director Piero Ausilio.

Di Maria has been linked with a move to Inter throughout the transfer window, having spent the last two seasons at PSG.

But Ausilio suggested the winger, 29, is out of Inter's price range and insisted he would take a logical approach to his squad construction, with Milan Skriniar, Borja Valero and Daniele Padelli brought in so far.

Asked about Di Maria, Ausilio told Sky Italia: "Dreams are nice because they can be achieved, but my reality makes me follow other arguments.

"The team must be built with logic and you have to take the group into account.

"You cannot think of bringing those in who earn three or four times more than our best player.

"However, this does not exclude important opportunities to improve Inter. We may want to evaluate young players and top players who could find a new dimension at Inter."

Ausilio also rejected reports that Ivan Perisic will join Manchester United, while tipping Gabriel Barbosa for a loan move and called for patience in the club's pursuit of Nice defender Dalbert.

I don't know why Inter are going after Di Maria. He's 29, his wages is too high and he is declining since leaving Real Madrid. It's better that Spalletti keep Perisic or if he wants an Argentinian attacker, he should go for Angel Correa who has a potential to become one of La Albiceleste's future great.

FCIN just reported that there is total agreement for Di Maria. Will sell Perisic first and then will confirm Di Maria.

and it says also that he will get the same wage at Inter over 3 years as he would get in PAris over 2: 18 millions.

that means 6 million/year in Inter

Yeah, as soon as the Bonucci-to-Milan rumors surfaced, you could smell Suning panicking and scrambling for, what they, knowing nothing about football, perceive as a 'top-name' to calm us fans coming a mile away.

He hasn't played well for close to two years, will smash our wage structure, we'll spend all the money (and likely more than) recieved from the (fantastic) Perisic deal and he won't move an inch in terms of shirt sales or image-wise.

Hallelujah Suning, get your fucking shit together.

common Di Maria is a top name we can realistically get ,do you see Bbilan signing a player of such stature?!
I always liked Di Maria...still do
he doesn't get along with Emery tho that well I read, had a slower season last year as far as I saw yes but so did PSG in general after the coach change...did well under Blanc tho...

he can play RW and LW and that's awesome! I realise he can be moody but Perisic is as well tbh...and as a Perisic admirer I still rate DI M higher...

my opinion...

I feel that with all the media pumping that we are getting I dunno who you guys expected...people's expectations grew to the heavens and above...have some common sense that we can't get the top player of the moment as we still can't compete with Rube and similar teams as we finished 7th last time...

Has not played well for two years? Common he was not great but most of the games i saw of him he was still pretty good even though i can probably count those games on one hand.

Also he s not gonna destroy our wage structure if he indeed is ok with 6 mio per year he s gonna earn a lot but it s not like he ll earn way more then our current top earner.

Imagine not being willing to give Bonucci, a player in a position we desperately need, what he wanted, but happy.to give di Maria what he wants
