Exactly. Bonucci is like top defender in the world. Absolute super star in Italy. He's no striker but still a very big name.

But the truth is you not gonna sell a club to the fans with a defender. That's just how it is.

Imagine not being willing to give Bonucci, a player in a position we desperately need, what he wanted, but happy.to give di Maria what he wants

Well to be fair Bonuccis demands were higher if we believe gazzetta. I mean i get the outrage over us not trying for bonucci since he is quality and would have helped us a lot. Yet i m 100% sure that if we signed him everybody would be saying we are overpaying for an old defender.

I mean over the 5 years this deal is gonna cost Bilan 115 mio and i highly doubt they ll be able to get rid of that cost earlier in case he starts to decline. So can we at least acknowledge that milan is taking a huge risk?

Regarding Bonucci JJM in some other thread said that we are not paying 40M+ and 6.5M wages for a 30 years old.

So what happens with ADM?

true that sadly.
id like di maria to come here very much, but it is almost certain that his signature is connected with the sale of perisic which is sad. i would have loved to have an attacking group of icardi, eder, di maria, perisic, candreva and pinamonti with gabi being loaned out... that would have been some top level shit.

Di Maria is not an upgrade over Perisic and it's also a more expensive player... Typical Inter move.

Like overpaying for McDonald freaking Mariga instead of go all out for Mascherano after winning the treble.
Like buying Forlan and Ricky freaking Alvarez (20m total + 12m annually gross at least) instead of going for a top player with lower wages (should be 3-4m net back then) such as Aguero or Sanchez in 2011.
Like replacing Thiago Motta with Fredy Guarin and Palombo in January 2012...
And I don't even want to go to the 2012-2015 period...

Angel Di Maria, overrated and overpriced. If Suning and Sabatini have any senses, they should use the Perisic funds to at least get Berardi. Then you can harass Napoli and Roma about Insigne and El Sharaawy. If we're not gonna get any better, at least try to disrupt our CL spot rivals.

Sabatini said Di Maria is not the player we need. They'll probably die out now.

It's not worth bragging about predicting Pioli's failure at Inter really. Anyone could've seen that coming.

Only those who have supported him for 'being Italian' and 'knows the language' were the delusional ones.

Well, no one was agreeing with me when I began criticizing him, in fact quite the opposite everyone that posted was begging management to keep him for another season. It wasn't until like 10 games later that people began to realize that Pioli wasn't up to the task.

Well if you "predict" everyone coming to Inter is going to flop, its not surprising you got most of it right last few years... doesn't make you a genius, just a very negative dude.

Well, I also got the few that succeed right, like Handanovic when everyone was outraged about the Júlio César situation and didn't know or rated the Slovenian. Palacio who I predicted perfectly and in wasn't in a positive way neither I wanted us to sign him, I was clamoring for us to sign James Rodríguez instead, guess how that went. Also Icardi who I praised even before we signed him, I also predicted before the start of the 2014/2015 season how many goals and assists he would have in his second season almost perfectly (I predicted 21 & 5, he got 22 & 6), here's the proof.

Then there is players like Casemiro and James Rodríguez who I've been praising and begin us to sign since the Sudamericano Sub-20 and World Cup Sub-20 in 2011, while many people here were saying they were overrated even once James was in Porto and Casemiro was signed by Madrid. And there's many more examples: Alex Sandro since his first season at Porto, Nainggolan since 2012, among others.

And of course there's all the flops I predicted (I didn't predict every flop we had of course because I don't give my opinion on players I know nothing about): Silvestre (who some people were saying that he was one of the top defenders in Serie A), Pereira (some said he was a top LB in Europe), Gargano, Medel, Schelotto, Hernanes, and more I can't remember right now. Here looking for my Icardi post I found some about others: Medel, Hernanes.

The only one I had gotten wrong was Perišić, who by the way played like I expected the first 2/3 of his first season with us, but he turned it around big time towards the end of that season and then he improved even more last season.

For coaches I only have gotten Stramaccioni wrong even though obviously I said he was a gamble since the beggining, and he in fact did very well in the end of that season he took over. But by the start of the next season I already have turned against him, because he wasn't going to play young players, he sold Coutinho and the stupid 3-man defense.

Gonna lock this for now. If rumors resurface, we'll open it up again.
