Sell De Vrij for 30-40 or whatever to PL, he's not the same player(bring Bremer). Release Gagliardini, Vecino and Vidal, then sign a vice Brozovic (maybe that Frattesi). Call back Sensi in the summer and...that Zakaria would have been good.

Since Inzaghi needs his target man, sign Scamacca and Raspadori cause we need a pacey, skillful striker (Alexis is still good with his dribbling but thats it).

Sell Lautaro, maybe we are lucky and he's banging some goals before the season ends and the PL comes after him (I doubt it, Barcelona where are you?)

If not possible, I would even bring back Lukaku if possible as a replacement for Lautaro or Belotti (at least he can shoot).

Inter director Beppe Marotta is not concerned by Lautaro Martinez’s goal drought and confirms that Marcelo Brozovic will sign a contract extension within a week

images

Marotta spoke to Sky Sport Italia following the Nerazzurri’s loss against Sassuolo.

Simone Inzaghi’s men have collected just one point in the last three Serie A matches and lost 2-0 against Liverpool in the Champions League last week.
“There are moments in life and the sport when you need to be aware of suffering. This is that moment for us now,” Marotta told Sky Sport.
“We must have the strength and the determination to continue what we’ve done, working even harder. We need trust as a result of what we’ve done this season. Our position in the table is important and I remember that we have a game in hand. We won the Supercoppa and we’ve played spectacular football.
“We don’t want excuses, but we knew we would have faced many strong opponents. We played nine games against top teams since the start of the year and we knew that January and February would have been the most difficult months.
“I repeat that this is no excuse. We need to be aware that we must face the remainder of the season as protagonists. That’s our role. We need to work hard with self-confidence, knowing that this season is a race that will be decided at the last kilometre.

What does Inzaghi guarantee in terms of results and work?

“He is a great professional, very prepared. He is doing what he’s been asked,” said Marotta.
“Yesterday’s defeat was deserved and must give us the motivation to see what didn’t work, with awareness and self-belief. This credibility is given by the coach. The team has clear targets. We are the defending champions and we must aim for the Scudetto and the second star.”

Lautaro Martinez has recently extended his contract until 2026, but hasn’t yet scored in 2022 and has gone 13 games without scoring in the Champions League. Did Marotta expect him to be more clinical this season?
“I repeat what Simone said after the game. Highs and lows are a normal thing for a striker,” said Marotta.
“Lautaro put in the right commitment day in, day out. He is missing the goal, which is the most important thing. It’s a temporary thing and it’s up to the team and the coach to support him. Hopefully, he will return to scoring and be the young champion everyone knows.”

Marotta confirms that Marcelo Brozovic has agreed to sign a contract extension with the club.
“Today, we have the awareness that the club and the player want to continue together,” the director said.
“This means that in the next few days, maybe in a week, he will surely sign a contract extension.”

On the other hand, Ivan Perisic and Handanovic see their deals expire in June. Will Inter try to renew with them?
“We are lucky to have great professionals like them in the team,” Marotta confirmed.
“They must be admired for what they do every day, the same goes for Andrea Ranocchia and many others. I’ve already spoken about the team’s strengths. Perisic and Handanovic are two professionals, we want to open talks quickly. They deserve to be confirmed and we’ll have to sit down together because they’ve proved that they deserve this shirt.

Inter have been linked Gianluca Scamacca, Davide Frattesi and Giacomo Raspadori. The Sassuolo starlets beat the Nerazzurri at San Siro yesterday and Scamacca even found the net.
“Sassuolo have many interesting young players, they play with lightheartedness and it’s no coincidence that they beat us, Milan, Juventus and Milan. Many top clubs have set their sights on them and I am happy for them and their director Giovanni Carnevale.”

Was always likely that one or both of rano and d'ambrosio would be retained for one more season.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta insisted that they should not be afraid to declare their ambitions to win the Scudetto, ahead of their Serie A clash against Genoa

The Nerazzurri make the short trip to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris to take on a Grifone side that have drawn four consecutive games under new coach Alexander Blessin, whilst Inter search for a first win in four Serie A matches.

Speaking to Italian television broadcaster Sky Sport Italia before kick-off, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, Marotta confirmed that Inter’s targets for the campaign had not changed and they would not hide the fact that they were battling to retain the title, despite suggestions of a transitional season.
“It has been a very positive year, we are in the running on all fronts. In football the message passes that those who spend the most wins, but in this club there is also the quality of the management, the characteristics that led us to win the Scudetto,” Marotta declared.

We must not be afraid to say we want to win the title, we are professionals and we always fight to reach great levels.

Marotta admitted that Inter had hit a tough patch of form, but felt that they were being hampered by a demanding schedule and warned against complacency against Genoa.
“We have had an extraordinary schedule, and it is normal for there to be a decline when you have to face many matches, not only with clubs but also for national teams. The other clubs fighting for the Scudetto have also had difficulties.
This is the most difficult time for Italian clubs and must be overcome with as little damage as possible, knowing that the pitfalls are also hidden in games that appear easy.

“The team is doing well. Today in football the psychophysical aspect plays a significant role, when you play at Marassi against a team with a poor standing it seems like an easy match, but it isn’t. We have to play as if we are facing a great team.”

Coach Simone Inzaghi has sprung some changes with a view to Tuesday’s Coppa Italia clash against AC Milan, as Alexis Sanchez replaces Lautaro Martinez in attack.
“I would say rotation is normal due to the competitive pressure of so many games played. The turnover is quite physically demanding, every big club has starters and squad players. I would not speak about who is on the bench, but of an entire group at a high level.”

A summer of turmoil saw Romelu Lukaku sold to Chelsea after Achraf Hakimi was offloaded to Paris Saint-Germain and coach Antonio Conte quit, subsequently taking the helm at Tottenham Hotspur. Despite all three struggling at their respective new clubs, Marotta argued that he did not relish seeing them unable to replicate the success they enjoyed at Inter.
“There is no pleasure. This is sport, they contributed to winning the Scudetto. We have to look at each other at home, we are going through a difficult period. The memory of those who helped us to reach our goals is always pleasant. They are going through a difficult time but the season is long and therefore they have the time to achieve the satisfactions they deserve.”

Another departure was that of Christian Eriksen, who was unable to play for Inter in Serie A after suffering a cardiac arrest for Denmark at Euro 2020, and has since joined Brentford in the Premier League. With the Dane in line for his Bees debut tomorrow, Marotta took the opportunity to wish him well.
“I’m happy for him, he suffered a lot. We had him with us after the incident. The authorisation of the Premier League will allow him to do his job and return to an environment that has been abruptly removed.
We send our best wishes from Inter for a career with many successes. In Italy the regulations are as strict as they should be, and for him any activity was not possible,” Marotta concluded.
Jinxed the Genoa match, hope it`s not the whole season. Inzaghi was saying before the match that he was asked to finish top4, and you can see the players are listening to him :palm:

As far as I remember last season no one didnt talk about winning scudetto, nor Marotta or Cunte.

Marotta before the match with Milan:

“It is a derby, but also the semi-final of a competition Inter care about a great deal. We will try to achieve something positive from this first leg to lead us towards qualification,” Marotta told Mediaset.

Should Inter fans be concerned at the latest development after UEFA announced they were looking into potential Financial Fair Play violations?
“The fans can relax, it is not an investigation, it is UEFA monitoring dozens of European clubs in the major leagues in the light of COVID and the consequences of that economic contraction. That prompted losses, so this is a way of understanding the right parameters and adjustments that can be made going forward in football.”

The Serie A title race is wide open, with Milan and Napoli top, Inter third with a game in hand, and Juventus are closing the gap to just seven points.
“There are still many points up for grabs. We must not be afraid of ambition, we are in the Scudetto race and will challenge to the end,” noted Marotta.
“I think at this stage there are five candidates for the final victory and that includes Juventus. In fact, it would’ve been extraordinary to suggest they weren’t in the running.”

Lautaro Martinez has struggled for goals recently and seems to be lacking in confidence, which sparked speculation over his future at Inter.
“Lautaro is a young man, it’s only natural that when he doesn’t score goals, he gets more apprehensive. He needs to relax, Inter absolutely believe in him and he must find himself again with the support of the squad.”

Coach Simone Inzaghi said nobody demanded the Scudetto when he took over from Antonio Conte, so what did the club ask of him?
“Inter must always aim for the highest target and try to go all the way in every competition. Ambition is nothing to be ashamed of. The fact remains that Inzaghi is doing very well and if someone does better than us, we must take our hats off to them and admit that.
“We know Inzaghi believes in the team and in himself, so we want to fight all the way. There are moments when we have to be even more determined, work harder and find the necessary ways out of problems.”

He has a big summer coming up. We're at a crossroads of whether this thing can be kicked up to the next level. He needs to get it right in several areas, but mainly in attack.

I think the questions are: (1) whether the Suning are actually permitted to spend by the Chinese Communist Party; and (2) If they are, whether there is any willingness on behalf of Suning to actually spend money and invest in Inter.

My feeling is that even if Suning are permitted to invest there is actually little willingness to do so.

I swear I read this comment every summer. And winter. And every month inbetween.

Beppe Marotta refused to discuss a possible Inter return for Romelu Lukaku when speaking to a group of students today.

The Nerazzurri CEO met with a group of Sports Management post-graduate students today at the Rcs Academy in the Corriere della Sera headquarters, where he discussed the goals for this season, Italian football as a whole and which signing of his was the most important in his career.

As seen in Corriere della Sera, Marotta first highlighted how “the setback at the moment does not affect the objectives, winning the league and the Coppa Italia.”

The Inter executive also commented on how Italian football needs changes to grow, nothing that it “needs to be reformed, starting from the decision-making bodies in which Lega Serie A has a marginal weight, although it is the driving component.” He also felt that sport should “have a dedicated ministry.”

Marotta refused to discuss any possible Inter return for Lukaku, who joined Chelsea in a deal worth over €100m last summer. When asked about the Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba deals during his time at Juventus, he underlined that his most important signing was “also in terms of leadership, Pirlo.”

The chaos surrounding Chelsea has led many to believe that Lukaku could return to Inter in the upcoming summer transfer window, although this seems unlikely given the Nerazzurri’s budgetary restrictions and the Belgian’s high wages.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta feels that last season’s Scudetto triumph was to the great credit of owners Suning.

Speaking at the AIC Gran Gala Del Calcio, as reported by FCInterNews, the executive spoke highly of the work done and the ambition shown by the owners to build the team that won Serie A last campaign.

Inter had gone nine years without winning Serie A going into last season, but the signs had pointed to a team emerging that was strong enough to win the title, especially once Suning took over.

In the season before last, the Nerazzurri missed out on the title by just a point and also reached a Europa League final, and then last campaign they went all the way and won the Scudetto.

Now, the Nerazzurri are once again fighting to win the Serie A title, and the CEO feels that all of this is thanks to the work of Suning.

“We’re very proud of this award,” he said, “the seal on a season that brought us back to winning the Scudetto and above all brought us the kind of glory befitting the tradition and history of this club.”

“It is the result of everyone’s work,” he continued, “of the team that goes on the pitch and of the invisible team, the men and women who supported the team behind the scenes throughout the season.”

“But above all it is the result of the investments, foresight, and vision of the owners that helped us to reach the goal over years,” he concluded.

Is he trying to say that this season's failure to defend it is their fault? 🤔

This guy has the tendency to piss me off with his decisions. His words, I typically agree with...

I hope when we replace him, hopefully backed by a committed ownership, it is with someone who loves Inter and has the club's best interest at heart and not some bureaucrat who treats players like robots.

I worry we will see more players that we would leaving at the end of the season because of the way he's handling everyone.

Beppe Marotta is one of five people who have been tasked with helping to find an agreement between the clubs and the FIGC on the liquidity index rules, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport, no agreement was found yesterday in a meeting on this topic.

The new President of Serie A, Lorenzo Casini, has appointed a commission of five members to continue the discussions with the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).

That group will include Inter CEO Beppe Marotta as well as Lazio’s Claudio Lotito and three other representatives with expertise on the topic.

They will have the task of updating the other clubs on a rule that for many is very concerning but for the FIGC is fundamental to securing the sustainability of Italian football.

The liquidity index is a way of testing a team’s financial stability to ensure they can compete over a season and not go out of business.
